New Tutorial Experience

With this update, new players will be greeted with an improved introduction to the game. We've redesigned the experience to better explain key concepts and ensure a smoother, more engaging journey.

And how does it affect existing players? Origins Planeswalkers have received some updates that affect their mana bonuses. Nissa received an additional update to her loyalty abilities. These changes can be found in our Forum.

Jiang Yanggu

A young planeswalker wakes up in a forest of Shenment, he doesn’t know who he is, or what his purpose is. But he is not alone, Mowu, his faithful companion will be by his side as he traverses the multiverse in search of his inner essence.

  • Passive Ability - Nurturing Nature: When another card or effect buffs a creature you control: You gain 5 life. This effect can trigger only once per turn.

  • Ability 1 - Bonding Strength (Cost 06) - Level 4: Target creature gets +6/+6 until end of turn.
  • Ability 2 - Loyal Companionship (Cost 09) - Level 4: Create a Mowu token. Reinforce it 2 times. Then: It gains Haste.

  • Ability 3 - Might of the Wilderness (Cost 10) - Level 4: Target creature gets +X/+X and gains Trample. X is 2 plus the number of that creature's reinforcements.

Vraska The Unseen

Vraska returns to her home of Ravnica with one thing in mind, those who wronged her, and the Golgari, must pay and the price will be high.

  • Ability 3 - Golgari Retribution (Cost 18) - Level 4: Until the beginning of your next turn: When a creature deals damage to you: Destroy that creature.

    • Reward: 300 Mana Runes, +4 Score, +4 Coalition Points

Changes and Fixes

Cards

  • Fixed: Collect Evidence interacting with Non-Simple Tokens.
  • Fixed: RVR Cards not being recognized as Outlaws.
  • Fixed: Betor, Kin to All destroying cards even if the total power is less than 40.
  • Fixed: Sage of Mysteries causing a soft lock when its constellation ability triggers.
  • Fixed: Dreadbore being cast even after the player refuses it in the cast prompt.
  • Fixed: Inevitable Defeat being unavailable to cast when the only possible choices are Vanguards.
  • Fixed: Phytohydra not triggering its effect when dealt damage.

  • Changed: Karlov of the Ghost Council’s exiling ability did not reflect its actual behavior. The card text has been updated to match it:

    • Before: When you gain life: This creature gets +1/+1. Then: Increase this card's Level by 1. If this card's Level is 6 or more — Exile a random opposing Creature. Then: This card's Level becomes 1.
    • After: When you gain life: This creature gets +1/+1. Then: Increase this card's Level by 1.While on the battlefield: If this card's Level is 6 or more — Exile a random opposing Creature. Then: This card's Level becomes 1.

  • Fixed: Echoes of Eternity showing the Devoid icon instead of the Crystalize icon.

  • Fixed: Greg using Putrefy to destroy its own creature.
  • Fixed: Traumatize causing soft locks.
  • Fixed: Marang River Regent//Coil and Catch displaying internal text in its Full Art version.
  • Fixed: Some cards being able to incorrectly affect event Supports. Affected cards:
    • Kraul Whipcracker
    • Korvold, Far-Cursed King
    • Demolition Field
    • Touchstone
    • Basalt Monolith
    • Silver Reflection (Token of Karn, Reflective Silver)

Planeswalkers

  • Fixed: Aminatou, the Fateshifter’s third ability counting toward “Casting” objectives.
  • Fixed: Oko, Thief of Crowns’s third ability causing a soft lock when trying to exchange creatures.
  • Fixed: Liliana Vess’ first ability’s effect not triggering discard-based effects.

Quests

  • Changed: The weekly reward required number of daily quests from 25 to 22. This change will take place on July 22nd.
