Save backup question

First off, I wasn't sure where to raise this question/issue so if I posted in the wrong place I apologize.

Yesterday I wanted to make a backup of my save data by signing in to AppleID. But when I signed in, instead of making a backup my account switched to a temporary account I made over a year ago to get my save back after my phone crashed at the time.

Thanks to very swift replies by CS my account has now been restored, which has been a relief, but this thing happening has left me with questions.

The last reply by CS has the statement that after verifying my account has been restored it should be safe to make a backup via AppleID for that account, but that is exactly what I found the last email told me back when I had my phone crash. I didn't sign in to AppleID back then, but since my account was reverted when trying to backup yesterday I have some doubts whether it is safe to try and make a new backup now. It could be that the process of making a backup to replace the temp account on my AppleID is time sensitive, but I would rather gather some more info than having to repeat the process of recovering my account.

I hope someone can help me get things a little clearer. Maybe @S0kun could help me out (sorry for calling you out if this is inappropriate). All this started in an attempt to prepare for the update to the new engine which I haven't done yet at this time, and I don't know if that update will be a forced update any time soon.
