Daily Play Token Bug & Exploit Farming

We're aware of the bug that's allowing for multiple daily play tokens to be earned and want to send a reminder that exploiting it is something we'd highly recommend you try not to take advantage of.
This isn't part of regular gameplay and while there are some instances such as crashes that cause the bug to happen, any egregious farming of the exploit is easily trackable and will result in accounts getting rolled back.

Got it. Awful gameplay caused by the way too soon rollout of the new engine without enough testing is fine. CS not answering tickets for months at a time, absolutely okay. But any bug that might benefit users is an exploit. Seems like you folks really just want us all uninstall this game lately.

It affects a presumably small group of players who are repeatedly force closing the app to farm hundreds of extra tokens. That's absolutely an exploit.
If they gave 300 tokens to everybody in error that's a completely different thing. This isn't players getting one over on the devs, it's players getting one over on other players.

Repeating what I said on Discord:
This was raised weeks ago in the beta. Steam players have been live with this same bug (feature?) for weeks. You consciously chose to not fix this before launch, despite being made aware of it. This is on you, not the players.
You also could have chosen to NOT go live with this specific high reward vault that would tempt players to use this feature more than let’s say Taco Tokens. It’s absolutely clear that this vault is a huge carrot dangling in front of players due to nature of the Winter in July vault contents. What did you think people would do?
You also could have disabled free tokens until a fix was in place and give out equivalent rewards in the mean time.
You could also have shared the above message BEFORE the Unity engine went live, like you did with sharing that saved teams would be deleted. Instead you waited too long to communicate this.
So many things you could do, because you were made aware of this weeks ago. You are at least partially responsible for this.

I know. How about you actually didn't rollout the update until everything worked? But I guess the investors wouldn't have liked that. But let's punish people for tokens that really don't matter (and, no, I haven't taken advantage of it so have no tokens to speak of).

We'll see how it actually plays out. I know I got extra tokens today just doing normal play. They didn't show up immediately and I'm not 100% sure what triggered them but they were there. If they roll me back I'm going to just leave. Even if some are exploiting a loophole the devs bear a ton of responsibility for any loopholes they created with this way too soon rollout. And threatening the user base instead of issuing a mea culpa for THEIR TERRIBLE ROLLOUT seems not just heavy handed but downright offensive.

Yeah, it seems maybe they thought not that many people would notice, lots did. I hardly see it as an exploit either. You're not using a 3rd party app or device. You're not changing settings on you phone to cause a glitch. Your game is a ******* cluster ****. Do better.

Yeah can't say this is going to sit well with the majority of the players.
The game isn't working properly and we apologize that there are many bugs but please be patient
The game isn't working properly and there is a bug that benefits players, but we won't tolerate you taking advantage and have no patience for itThis could be the final nail in the coffin for me.
You should be showing good will to your consumers and just accept it is what it is. Surely people will be more involved if they are given a bump in levels/resources/5 stars.

It's now somehow their fault for the game giving them a token every time they want to play? Unacceptable. Who made the call to push this update to release?

The message here talks about "egregious farming." A handful of extra tokens are hardly egregious.
If someone is sitting around force closing the app 1000 times a day to get extra tokens, I absolutely want them rolled back, unless the devs also give me 1000 tokens.

I am going to continue playing since I don't believe this is an exploit and if you roll me back then so be it. I don't believe you anyway. If you did not rollback the rewards from the ascenion part 1 debacle, you ain't doing it here.

While there is likely a threshold (1000+?) where restarting the game would be considered an exploit, historically, restarting the game often is absolutely normal gameplay behavior. I play a lot of PvP (100+ matches per event) and keep a couple of high point retaliations for my final climb. I also don't like paying the iso skip tax and so restarting is something I commonly do. Since the current PvP is for IM40 and he's an FF, tokens come with playing this PvP naturally. Please consider your long established acceptance of a certain playstyle in your desire to limit people 'exploiting' this bug.

FFS can't people just be content with the extra tokens they are getting anyway? I can't even play the game right now but see no reason to exploit what is obviously a tough situation for the Devs. Don't we actually want the game to succeed instead of looting under the disguise of protest? No mention before this of these Steam players being wankers whilst moaning. Whatever.

Are you going to retroactively charge players that take advantage of this the millions of iso they've saved over the years?

Pretty ambiguous here. Can we get some sort of definitions like how many is an infraction? How long is it going to be before you get rolled back if you "broke the rule"? Because evidently the "exploit" has been known for some time...and I can understand why folks might be irritated if you roll back a roster where someone loses weeks of legitimate play...

I agree with the argument that this is more about the fact that there are many players who don't know about the exploit and it isn't fair to them. It's not our fault it isn't fair to them, but I think it's okay for the devs to say "until we fix this, don't be jerks about it".
2 -
They should lean into the problem. They could make something positive out of this if they try. It could go a long way to make people not care as much about the lags and the other bugs. Truly make it Winter in July. Let Christmas hit twice while you guys are working on things. This is also a great chance for any new players to have a deal of catch up….just some thoughts…

This might seem crazy, but why not... I don't know... patch the issue instead of threatening your player base (who is already upset with you)?

I would welcome some actual parameters more accurate Than egregious. Yesterday i played 3 DDQ nodes in a row and got 3 tokens without closing the app in between, is this already egregious? What shall I do, stop playing because playing more than 2 nodes at once is blasphemous?
