The Unity version of MPQ is officially available on Amazon Kindle through R325!

This version is the same PC Steam Unity version of the game currently on R324 and we plan on making sure all version numbers are aligned once every platform has been released into the new engine.

We mentioned previously that the development window between Unity releases would be “7 business days or longer” and now that we’re in week 2, the Kindle version was obviously in the “or longer” part of that statement. This allowed us to push out several hot fixes to Steam and internal closed beta builds to continue to optimize Unity across all platforms for their eventual releases.

Now that both PC and Kindle are out in the wild, we’ll be continuing to release patches for any major issues and most importantly, start to prioritize getting the mobile versions of the game ready for a public release. The iOS and Android versions of Unity have been running parallel test versions to the public Unity builds so we’re currently evaluating their public release in the near future. Since these versions count for the majority of our players, we want to send a reminder to players to please back up your accounts to the cloud using Facebook/Google/Apple in case there are any account issues. Doing so makes it a LOT easier for our CS team to be able to help troubleshoot any unforeseen issues that may potentially pop up.

As with the initial release of Unity on Steam, the builds may not be perfectly optimized and we expect to see bugs surface in the near future, but we’re committed to making sure we’re able to fix them as soon as possible. Most importantly, we’re really looking forward to the full release of Unity on all four platforms because that now frees up our resources from working on 2 engines simultaneously which is a massive resource sink across our teams.

We’ll have another update next week so until then, please continue your experience with us on the Unity engine and we’ll continue to keep pushing out builds that make this new engine launch a little less bumpy for a more enjoyable ride.
