Steam Unity Compensation
Comments

The compensation, IMO, is for confusion and inconvenience caused to typical / casual players, NOT any replacement for any loss of rewards, certainly not for players used to getting everything.
There were others ways to complete quests on Steam, when they were affected by Unity issues. Quests broken for every one are just broken.
As for sliding in PvE placement due to node timers and wave issues ... MORE than offset in game by other Unity issues that were in player's favor. Game was upchucking vault tokens like a broken slot machine. LTs for the taking 5x more often than normal. On the whole, my account is way ahead.
If a player feels they have been shorted overall, well ... then ... were you even playing, bro?
The thing Steam players have been jilted in is the Else feeder rewards ... yeah, yeah, separate issue, already 10 days on, tho. I trust the check's in the mail, harhar.
EDIT to add: Elsa rewards finally delivered, via a small update. They made it before the next character is released, with 2 days to spare. Somehow sent me 14 covers worth when I was only due 11. Interest?

I'm an Android player, but those numbers seem.....light. Eesh.

These are....not good. I know they're trying to get the bugs taken care of but in the 2-3 additional patches we still have: many duplicate supports, inability to interface like before (Scrolling, using the esc button, etc), the "Upgrade Ready" cover tab showing characters who you don't have any upgrade covers for, the continuous lag. I'm sure there's more.
Most of these have been around since the update first dropped but the fun surprise has been the ADDED issues with the subsequent supposed big fixes.
You beta test for a reason, and most make it voluntary for a reason. Forcing an entire platform to test drive this mess is a bad move, especially just before the anniversary. I can't imagine this is doing magical things for the player count or getting the dev team any good faith.
Best wishes to the community reps and mods who have to field the vitriol from the community for this completely smooth-brained rollout.

And then the sympathy goes. 13 covers of a 5*...behave.I'll keep this in mind when they decide their EULA allows them to strip your roster of whatever they want to, whenever they want to, based on the whims of whatever platform you are playing on.
The point is one of blatant unfairness. Users that are forced into their beta test should be rewarded. Instead, Steam was quite heavily punished.
Next time, it could be you.

With any luck, they'll leave the Daily Crashes in place when the entire player base gets to be beta players with Unity.
Also....yeah of course I appreciate the LTs daily. but otoh....the current set isn't exactly super amazing, nor is Elsa, so at best you could be a bit ahead on a hoard over mobile players.

I'm just going to say that when the Samsung bug destroyed gameplay completely, the compensation was huge. I have no idea whether or not that "cost" was recovered from Samsung. In this case, it is not huge and my personal opinion is that this should be a "wave 1" of compensation.
My rationale: Realistically, the total compensation can't be calculated until it is "fixed" and so ongoing annoyance factors can't be quantified. Neither can future compensation because that depends on how quickly bugs get closed down, impacts on future events etc. These are the known and unknown unknowns.
The finalized "known" impacts (those relating to events that started and finished) have been awarded so that there wasn't a further inconvenience of not having them awarded, particularly when they contain required for future events. These can be quantified and issued as they will not change. Hence why this should be Wave 1, with future waves as and when required ending with the final wave once Unity is implemented across all platforms (as then everything will be even and consistent (hopefully!).
Asking for 13 5* covers, implies an estimate of the future impact of the unknowns, but it may yet turn out to be under or over the final compensation total. Again, my personal thought, is that it will turn out to be massively over.

My comment was actually in response to slidecage talking about 13 5* covers for any one you wanted. This game has never given out that level of compensation. Meanwhile Steam players have been able to collect additional LT's not available to anybody else which goes a long way to being compensated, Blue wolf has confirmed amongst other that the game is playable but obviously anniying. They will get their Elsa covers, possibly they deserve more for lost season pass stuff. But an entire complete 5* character or 13 covers of whoever they want? When do we earn rewards of that level? The greed coming off of this is just next level but whatever. I hope you guys get your free covers if that is what you think you deserve. ☺️

What I think is....after reflection....the current bundle of stuff is fine for Steam players, whenever it comes. Are Kindle players also included or are they going to evaluate them separately for their enjoyment of the bugs? Or is their situation not bad enough to justify some compensation for making their play experience worse?
The whole entire community will get Unity sooner than later.
Marvel Insider closed down recently - this was a program for US folks only that basically let you, for free, earn points on Marvel's website by clicking links to read articles, watching videos, and you could get points for playing games (like MPQ) and doing certain things in them; you could also, I believe, gets points from purchasing some things. At the end they offered people with enough points the chance to get a bundle of wildcard shards - 300 for a 3, 400 for a 4, 500 for a 5.
Slight edit: the things you had to do to get Insider points from MPQ were basic, mid level play in various events that thousands of players already did, but you just had to tell Marvel you wanted points for doing them via their janky MI web page.
IMO the devs - with everything they have done around Unity - have damaged the community's trust in them, possibly irreparably. I think they should just send every player the same bundle that Marvel Insiders got sometime after Unity is fully implemented and at least some of the more annoying remaining bugs are taken care of.
Right now we just have "trust us, we are hard at work to make the game perform like it used to". And "oh just wait, eventually we'll add some new PVEs or something".

They probably also need to convince the higher ups not to pull the plug. With no new content and a broken game, there will be a noticeable drop in sales and playtime. Unless the decision makers have emotional ties to the game, it's all just numbers to them.
I don't wish for the game to end, but they dug themselves into a really deep hole and it's raining hard.

Well sure, that’s looming hard over the game but they’ve also been sticking it out so far this year.
Obviously these higher ups really want Unity to be implemented or they wouldn’t be going at the pace they are with the bugs, I assume. So presumably they are at least committed for a bit longer.

I misread the post above mine. I thought they were asking for 13 of the new 5 star. Mostly was saying that never happen but if the did offer 13 covers it be nice if it was any 5s but that never happen
What I be happy with is they just made the game playable again. With the major lag I'm getting. (It's getting a little better) But the game isn't playable
When it takes 10 seconds just to add a cover. It's nuts
When it crashes and throws you into Deadpool daily instead of the normal pve you was playing
I will admit last week was the most a played in a month. It's just too bad all of those cover got in pvp will mostly go to waste cause the lag in adding . What drives me nuts
I know this week not playing much due to trying to get all of my work done so I can have my gallbladder surgery next Monday I know sharing too much and noone really cares 😂
Maybe when I'm sitting around healing. With all the free time I have been n my hands I will fall back in love with the game . Now that some supports are gone there is a chance I will
In closing what do I really want is just a freaking playable game without the lags. Covers tokens hp ECT don't mean much when you really can't enjoy the game

Yes, apologies, while I quoted you it was more a continuation of the conversation. FWIW, I think 13 covers is way way too much too! We'll all be on Unity soon so any advantage/disadvantage will be equitable across platforms.

Just to update that 5* Elsa champ rewards for Steam are in, though it seems like i got quite a bit more of it than i anticipated. Not sure how to check, but my Yondo is ascended... so... yay?

My first Yondu is at 370, and I have a duplicate another one at 289.
My 4-star Elsa is at 370, and another one who has yet to be champed, so no bonus rewards from her.I now have a 5-star Elsa who is 4/3/3 (edit - and 100 extra shards towards the next cover). No idea if this includes the 750 bonus shards from the missed Elsa quests or not.

Primary feeder gives 6 and Secondary feeder gives 2.
Your 370 Yondu gives 6, your 289 gives 1 for a total of 7
Your 270 Elsa gives 2.That gives you a total of 9 covers.
How you got the other cover + 100 shards is likely from rewards given out from the events played so far (I'm assuming you played those PvE and PvP's that gave out shards).
But doesn't appear you got the extra 750 shards (1 1/2 covers) because you'd be at 10 covers with 250 shards.

I did play her PvP, so maybe that's where the shards came from.
Now, it's just sit back and wait for the three weekly quests for the 250 shards each to show up... Any day now...
