New engine date? Any news about the game?

April so far, and no horizon, ZERO NEWS, worst Comm effort, if any
Here we are, "waiting for something", and some Alliances are accusing low participation, players disband, and the excitement is at its lowest point
Any comments?

Sign up for joining the closed beta of the new engine was announced on discord a couple weeks ago, so it should be coming soon.

Did you get a Beta test?

Aw, I would've signed up.

I think it should be released on the 29th of this month as a 40th birthday present for me!

I applied to test but haven’t heard anything yet.

I'd love to balance test new characters or features, but have very little interest in doing free QA work/bug hunting for them.

Any comments?Yikes, if we are at the point that players themselves are actually disbanding then things are dire indeed, there will be limbs everywhere!

I have a slightly different view - I think the new engine is absolutely key for the future of this game and getting new content in. Sure, we can wait another x months for an internal team to do the wide range of QA activity across multiple devices and platforms and risk a wide range of bugs and issues that will alienate more players when it is finally released (or worse still, break accounts) but I'm happy to spend a few hours playing a game to help move that process along and de-risk it.
This gives me the opportunity to play more in that non-timebound style that people keep asking for and hopefully it will give me a chance to play fun teams and try out combos that I wouldn't usually and at times I don't usually play. It is a win-win.

I'm curious as to why they just didn't release a 2nd copy of the game in the app store with the new engine so that everyone who wanted to could download and try out the new engine. Then no need to ask for beta testers (no one here for example was even asked and this is the official forum). I know Crapple has a tough time adding new apps but Android doesn't (don't think Steam does either). They'd then be able to get potentially thousands of testers and if something was wrong you could easily go back to the official version of the game.

I play on my kindle fire so I really am just hoping they continue to support the device whenever they do implement the new engine, and if they aren't going to, I hope it never comes out hahaha.

I can think of a couple of reasons - one is control over who is accessing so there are no people deliberately trying to break it. Second would be that the second version would not be permanent, but a new player might be attracted to the wrong app and be upset if their game closes at the end of the trial period.
