Combining ascended characters

With the current champions 2.0 we're able to increase characters 'til 550. That's a long run even if we're talking 4*. Winning ascended for the same character is very painful moment for advanced ppls as mostly unable to use for anything. Example is having 2 ascended 4* and winning a third or having 1 which is already ascended to 5* and winning a 4*. This issue can be solved elegantly giving an option to increase ascended lvl's by adding duplicates.

    This combining can be extended for all cases, of course without giving additional rewards for leveling.

    I second Sto’s feedback. Please provide a better avenue to combine the covers of characters to level up a higher character that is won/purchased. When I first started playing I made the mistake of purchasing an ascended character thinking I could combine with the lower level character I had built up, only to find out I couldn’t.
