Season Pass Rewards changing how I view PVE

Not sure if this was the intent of the developers or not, but my style of play is definitely changing with the Season Pass rewards. In a nutshell, I find the rewards much more valuable and attainable vs the amount of time I play in Season Pass much better than PVE.

I have been grinding PVE for such a long time that I never really stopped to think why I was doing it. I love the Alliance friendship, and the game is fun, but it is such a slog to worry about playing at a certain time AND playing that way requires speed. It was hard to try to have fun with new players/teams.

It dawned on me this morning, as I was waiting for the "15 minutes before the end of the timer so I can start my grind". Like, wouldn't it be fun just to play PVE when I was available and help my alliance but not worry about the time? And all at once I actually looked at awards for PVE (never really thought about them before) and they are pitiful compared to what is raining down on us for playing whatever/whenever with the Season Pass.

Now many of you (especially you, @entrailbucket I will give you major credit) have known for awhile the awards are pretty pathetic for the time commitment to play PVE according to the clock. But I hadn't thought about the rewards in years and finally looked at them. Basically, if you aren't in Top 10 (and really Top 1/5), the rewards don't change THAT much down to 200.

Anyways, sorry for the ramble. I look forward to still continuing to play and still helping my alliance while playing on my timeline with my teams that I find fun even if they aren't the fastest.

I have never been able to play optimally because I work in retail and my hours vary.

I have found a slice that I can join late (sometimes on day 2) still make full progression and top 100. That’s plenty of rewards and I can waste time working on the daily quests if I want.

I've never played competitively in PvE.

In CL10, I always make T100 (4 star cover) and most times T50 by just doing 4 clears. No need to play on a schedule or grind at specific times.

I take no credit and deserve none!

It's a game. Playing MPQ should be fun. It shouldn't feel like a job, or a chore, or a grind. If it does, try something different! Maybe you get a few less rewards, but no reward is worth playing a game that isn't fun.

This is why I enjoy boss events. You still need to do your clears within a specific time frame, but the window is much more flexible. And you can still do tiny min/max things if you wanted to increase your score like setting alarms to wait for boss nodes to refresh.
