What's going on with Mthor AI?
![Ryudo](https://forums.d3go.com/applications/dashboard/design/images/defaulticon.png)
It's getting ridiculous to play PVP in this game... Playing against Mthor is getting worse every day. I know accidents happen, but every time activate infinite cascades, you can't make a match. The worst part is that on your turn the cascades don't work, you can barely make 1 match while with AI it seems like it's activated frequently. Not only with Mthor, but with other characters like ProfessorX, Oslaught... It wasn't like this before, instead of improving and making the game fun, it turned into this joke like now. Yes, this is a rant.

It's not mThor. It's her with Fantasticar. Many people favorited it to 5 star, and a lot of people's best defensive strategy is simply to put out the most annoying thing possible.

Which one is MThor? There are just so many.

She's broken but like Polaris no one wants to fix it because it lets them punch up and is FAST. If she was broken and a slow defensive character they would have already nerfed.

I don't think they changed anything, but it sure does feel that way when you get a run of bad cascade luck.
It's random, certain characters are just more RNG-driven than others.

I seem to remember the old Devs stating that as a cascade goes, there's a diminishing chance of getting a match. It's the only time they edit the falling gems because it felt unfair when your opponent got a mad long cascade.
The only problem with this, is that any passive that triggers during the cascade, resets the "diminishing chance". This is why profx, and onslaught sometimes feel extra mean, as they both have powers that interrupt the flow of a cascade.
Good news! Now, so does mThor with her supports.
I actively dislike the state of PvP more then ever at the moment.
When ihulk dominated the PvP I was silent because I felt like he was beatable. When Kitty and Polaris dominated, I felt like you could work around it. When Chasm was extra immortal, I was fine with it because there was ways to combat him.
When mThor first dropped, we could get buy with a select team. That was ok.
Now with supports? MThor is horrible.
Omega/chasm/ironmay, are suck. Both of these fights are just not fun. They are frustratingly stupid, and you need a seriously diverse 550 squad to win. That's lame.

omega/chasm/iron may have all but dissapeared for me in sim now with supports on. Almost every team I see now is ascended mbaku with Fcar, chasm with tinkerer, and 3 star namor with Krakoa.
I would much rather deal with this team or mthor support teams than pre nerf chasm. These teams are not only easier to beat, but if you do lose at least it happens in the first 5 seconds and not a 2 hour slog of infinite healing chasm.

I suppose you could counter this with something like Chasm/Colossus/Juggernaut, but that might be too slow and I'm not sure how you kill M'baku with that team anyway.
I wonder if Killmonger is on the rebalance list -- his passive would be a neat counter to that team if it hit a bit harder.
Edit: 5* Moon Knight might be an option here too. When Chasm tries to stun him he hits back and steals AP.

Supports in PvP suck. It made doing the part of the game unbearable.

I think there's also a Purple Man team that'd shred this. I kind of want to mess around in Sim now just to see what works.
Granted, all this stuff relies on a pile of niche characters that nobody has invested in, but maybe that's good!

I've been using the namor team, but with p5 collosus instead of mbaku. Someone hit me with an unchamped purpleman, shang, and I forget the third (chasm I think it was). I hit them back and killed them in one move.
So I guess whatever purple man does works on offense, but was easily crushed when I retaliated.

You need to pair him with one or more other immortals/damage dodgers/etc. His passive redirects all the damage you do to him to someone else, as long as anybody else is still alive.

MThor has been this way for so long now, it actually baffles me that there are still people in a position that they can't just shut her down immediately.
- Chasm
- Darkveil (4star)
- Black King (4 or 5 star)
3 characters everyone should have that make her very easy to beat on offense. These are single characters that stop her from doing her thing, there are plenty of other options also when you start mixing teams and supports together...
I'm trying my best to understand, but at this point it just feels like people are punishing themselves or actively avoiding how to properly counter things. Yes, she is surely top 10 offensive characters in the game, but if you are still getting crushed by her, it's either self inflicted, or the best turn 1 Fantasticar.

I'd be careful about things everyone should or does have -- not everyone here is in that sort of position.
But it's luck. I've wiped to a 500k Polaris/m'Thor cascade 3 or 4 times, out of many, many fights against that team. If they all happened the same day I'd be pretty upset about it too, and probably convinced that something had changed.

Totally agree with the use of your team above and others that have been mentioned.
I could be wrong, but reading between the lines, I think there is a second part that goes unsaid. It's not that people can't beat MT in PVP. It's that most of the teams that can beat her easily can't be left out unshielded without taking quite a bit of hits.
Personally, I just use my own MT if I run up against her. She and SC can make light work out of most teams and, in general, if I leave them out they don't get hit as much as other teams do.

@entrailbucket, I totally get the idea that not everyone will have those exact characters. I was however very cautious to note that it has been quite some time (this character is no where near new anymore) and that Darkveil only needs to be 4star, King can be 4star also but needs stronger teammates and Chasm... if you don't have Chasm at this point, then you are in fact punishing yourself. Chasm only needs 1 cover to stop her, the rest are highly recommended, but if you are still struggling at this point, you must be actively avoiding what you need to stop her.
OR, if you are soo casual / low level you just don't have any of them, maybe you shouldn't be fighting her in the first place. It only takes facing her once to see what she can do. I would be shocked if any of the people posting about her in the forums don't have at least one character that can stop her.
@LavaManLee I would actually counter that MThor is in fact is the one you shouldn't leave out on defense. I actively seek out every match that has her in it for the easy wins and avoid far more Chasm. When I leave Darkveil on defense, I regularly win more than lose or win more than other characters I leave out (I do believe this is likely due to misunderstanding her ability and or underestimating the 4star you see sitting on defense though).
Everyone's experience and roster is different for sure, but these are facts:
- She is very good and can easily get out of control if you don't know what you're doing. She is in fact too strong in comparison to others.
- She can easily be stopped without being a high level player.

PvP hasn't been fun for a long time.

I clearly am just overly sensitive to all of the "woe is me" when the answers are common and attainable. So it feels like you are just doing it to yourself at this point. Counter it and move on.

@WhiteBomber I only mentioned that because OP is a name I don't recognize, with very few posts. It's possible they were asking "what do I do to beat her?" for the first time, and weren't aware of the answers you posted until you posted them.

Second, if you can proclaim how much you like it, I don't understand what you have against people with alternate opinions. It's not like we do this every thread. Expressing frustration is literally part of the topic post.
