One shot killed

So I was just playing in the Sim and I just got one shot by a team of Mbaku, Chasm, and 3* Namor.

I did not even get to move.

That’s never happened before.

What teams have one shot you?

Chasm, OR and the frying pan. OR's red one shot my Colossus and my agatha and mthor were finished off in three matches. Good times.

Been a long time since I've been one-shot in Simulator. When it's happened, it's usually in pick-2 and involves Polaris, Dr. Thor, and Fantasticar shenanigans. I've also been stun-locked on turn 1 a bunch. That feels like being one-shot.

Mbaku ascended can mean a world of hurt.

This is happening because they put supports into Simulator.

You wouldn't have been losing like that before but the black AP gen one is killing you.

    Yay......

Its a few things, but chasm is what's giving them the first turn advantage. Personally, skip chasm teams unless you have your own chasm or your teams health over 75%

The number of 550 Namors is interesting, I thought nobody was spending money or using the swap feature, as a protest?

550 Namor 5* or 3Ascended? If 550 Namor 5, one could have done him before the cover swap was implemented online. If 3* Ascended, yeah, the only way to get him up that high this fast is utilizing the new cover swap.

It's the 3* one. There's a bunch of them running around, which seems odd given the protest.

The protest was never about 3* swaps or 4* swaps. It was about 5* swaps, specifically latest legends and turning something that was a free service into a very expensive HP sink. I think in general the ability to swap lower level characters was very well received by everyone.

I'm not sure how you can get 3* Namor up to 5* without spending money though. I did see screenshots of a few players being called out for engaging with the swap system at all, but maybe that was earlier on.

I did join and skip around in Sim just now and didn't see any of him, so maybe the person who told me about this was exaggerating.

It's very easy to get Namor to 5* without spending money. You just need enough hp and lots of people have enough.

Are you saying this is something free to play players can/are doing, or that the (presumably still boycotting) buyclub people are burning through the stash they'd spent money on before the boycott? Those are two very different things.

I do not know what buyclub people are doing but I suspect many are. I was able to quickly get 3Namor to 5*. Moving from 450 to 550 is more challenging so it seems more people are doing that a bit slower.

I don't think I've ever ever been one shot, but Spiderman came close once when I went in early on during supports being added and not paying attention to the pink starters. Never again, we eat spiders for lunch now.

For what it's worth, that team can ace you without supports on turn 1. Go in with your own Chasm to target Namor first and or definitely someone with match damage resistance and you should be aight (Colossus, Juggs4-5, Blob4-5).

It's a bit of a slog, but pretty hilarious watching Baku slap you with flour tortillas if you are running Colussus AND Juggs with an ArosArrow.

Fwiw, I participated in 1 total buyclub, I preferred my contributions actually going to my mates. I'm still resisting spending (I do really want that Lady Octopus costume though, they're jerks for offering it again and again lol). The owners' yearly plan presented to shareholders was scummy in general, and I don't want to support that. Maybe they'll learn, maybe they won't, either way... I paid my way for a long time and it's up to them now.

My main issue with the swaps feature was the changes at the 5* level; I think it's a great feature overall but the costs at the high end are really **** and yoinking what was a generally understood (assuming you read anything anywhere) free feature sucked, doubly so for newer players that were saving to make the jump to 550s. We need new blood there.

Am I using the swaps to get a 3a5 Namor? Hell yeah! Vault offerings have been relatively bad lately, aside from the new years one, and there doesn't seem to be any point in hoarding HP when I can apply my resources towards a worthy cause.

    By theroy ,you need 140k for 3a5 550 ,200k HP for 4a5 550
And terrible amout of token / CP to do that

it's thousands of token or ten thousands of CP that can't afford by newblood

I was talking about players saving to enter 550 play; in the past you'd aim for overages on the LL trio and apply covers over 550 on those to whoever you wanted via CS swaps. Now, yeah, with the costs at 5* there's no way new players can achieve that. It was a big ask even before to save like that, but it was the best route at the time. I don't even know what I'd advise newer players to do at this point.

I'd advise them to take their time, enjoy the game, build their roster naturally, and not worry about rushing to an "endgame" that's not particularly different, or much more fun.
