App unstable

I've been running MTGPQ on my Honor Pad 8 (Android) for about 18 months now, and it's been running just fine.

Over the last few weeks tho the MTGPQ app has become unstable when playing multiple games... perhaps 10 or 15 games without manually restarting the app (that would be, say, playing all the games in 2 or 3 different events in a row)... the app will suddenly, instantly, crash to OS. And this doesn't just happen when I'm playing a game. It will happen from the menu system (e.g. the shop), and it can often happen when I'm not touching the screen, and the app is not doing anything, just waiting for input.

I've not changed my behaviour, I've always played MTGPQ in long bouts like this, what's different now is the instability of the app.

Weird. I have trouble remembering the last time the app crashed like you describe.

I’m on iOS so, I’m posting this in the hope others will chime in, so we can crowdsource if there is a problem localised to a specific subset of OS, manufacturer or whatever.

No-one else in my coalition has reported the same problems, I guess it could be specific to my device? I've been in the device settings and app settings and turned off anything that looks like it's Power Saving Mode, which is typically a thing that causes app instability.

The Honor Pad 8 is not a high end device but it's far from the bottom (my old Samsung Galaxy A5 from 2017 still runs MTGPQ, altho it can chug a bit sometimes!). And, as I say, I've been playing MTGPQ on this device just fine for 18 months or so. Altho, if the problem is a memory leak, it's likely to affect devices like mine after less runtime than more expensive ones.

@Janosik - I don’t know the Android world all that much, but has there been any major update recently?
How about Android versions that are no longer supported?

I don't know much about Android either ^_^

Here are a bunch of numbers:

If I’m reading it correctly, you are running Android 12. That is from fall 2021, that is an old OS. It might not be desirable to upgrade to a newer version on your Hardware, but your problems may stem from trying to run a newly released app on an old OS.

This app has always been so good at backwards compatibility before... it'd be a shame if I had to use my MTGPQ budget for the new couple of years on buying a new tablet rather than cool new PWs O︵O

I have not yet tried reinstalling the app, I'll give that a go when I'm done playing the coalition event this weekend
