In a flurry of invention and innovation, Maximus creates a myriad of devices to even the odds. And if some get lost in the fight, he can just build something else. If you have no Strike tiles or their total strength is less than the enemies, create a Strike tile with strength 28 plus the difference. Otherwise, Depower your Strike tiles by 30% and deal 65 plus 8.0X the total strength reduced in damage. Then repeat this for Attack and Protect tiles.

(PASSIVE) Whenever a Strike, Attack, or Protect tile leaves the board, create a 3-turn Countdown tile that deals 102 damage.

270: Create a strength 53 tile. Deal 125 damage plus 8.0X the reduced strength. Create a 3-turn tile that deals 196 damage.
370: Create a strength 112 tile. Deal 261 damage plus 8.0X the reduced strength. Create a 3-turn tile that deals 411 damage.

    A lot to process here.

But the passive part of that Purple is going to absolutely kill Polaris teams (1400 damage per created SAP tile at 370 with 5 covers) or Carnage teams. I wonder if it applies to start of battle SAP tiles like Rocket / BRB which would murder them too.

The 2nd part of the Black power seems crazy good. Whenever you swap to that power, you create a brand new SAP tile of strength 3137 (370 5 covers). That's incredibly strong for a 4 star. More importantly you switch back and forth between Black powers whenever an ally fires a power. Wondering if some of these really spammy characters like Darkveil / Multiple Man could let you swap back and forth 4-5 times or more until you have like 30K worth of tiles on the board so that you pretty much down someone on match-3.

Even the passive part of the Blue seems crazy. Anytime an SAP leaves the board (matched or removed) he creates a 2 turn CD that does damage. Imagine him paired with Coulson or what happens when a board filled with SAP tiles gets blown up or lots of tiles get removed. Massive CDs everywhere.

I've seen way too many "Polaris killers" fail to put that title on anybody new! (She'll just stun him, that's sorta the problem with all of them).

I think he's pretty great WITH her, though. He's definitely a shenanigans character who will make fun combos with a bunch of the other shenanigans characters -- my first 550 4* was Coulson and my second one will be Carol, and I'm looking forward to trying that team!

Interesting to be sure, but I’d rather have seen this kit at the 5 star level since a lot of folks have long ascended Polaris and R&G (myself included). We’ll see how this goes, but I don’t see him as a viable counter against ascended characters with his low health.

    I wonder how he’ll play as a 3rd with Polaris and R&G.

Not sure he works that well with her. You won't fire his Blue and the only really useful overlap is when one of your SAP tiles gets matched and he puts out a countdown. She has far better partners than him.

His passive does 1400 damage per enemy SAP tile put on the board. If her team matches just one of her SAPs tiles she puts down 3 SAPs which means someone is eating 4200 damage (doesn't say if its the character in front or whomever creates the SAP). If she hits a mini-cascade it could mean eating 15K or more damage which is quite a lot at 4 star level. All that without any damage boost (his own strike tiles, boost characters / supports). Really curious to see what he looks like ascended.

I've been wanting Maximus for a while but that sure is a wall of text. I guess I'll wait to try him out to see if the "RIP Polaris" I saw someone summarize him as was correct.

Definitely not, if you have a high enough Polaris. He will be annoying, but don't see him getting rid of Polaris.

It's a wall of text, but check out his (second?) black passive and his purple passive (and active too!). Doubling the strength of all your tiles will be pretty great for her, plus he's a pretty decent spammer on his own.

They'll likely reuse the comic they used for his Poll this year instead. All the poll characters now have used the covers used in the poll.

Pretty sure the first answer is no -- I didn't get any retro covers for him.

I can't tell yet for the second one. I should have that answer relatively soon though! I always buy the new 4* bundles, and with the quests he's already pretty close.

If they offer some other way to buy him I'll definitely get that too -- I've been spending extra for the last week or two (for no particular reason!).

Only got him at 1/1/1 but I like a cool thing he does vs monsters that make S/A/P at the start of the match.

Maximus does a tick of damage when the enemy creates a S/AP. Team with a booster/strikes and you down all 3 monsters on turn 0 without making a match.

    Interesting kit he has.

I mentioned this. Imagine what he will do to rocket, BRB at game start. Instant 5 to 10 k damage or more.

Just wondering if anyone has champed him via sandbox or swaps to see who he might feed. Just curious as it’s probably Black Bolt or Crystal.

And yes, you can swap for his covers if you want (for 400 hp of course).

Looks like they updated the feeder information in the first post on this thread. He feeds 5* Black Bolt.

Makes sense. Bolt only has one feeder at the moment, and they're, what, brothers?

No comment yet on Max, but wanted to comment on the insane amount of banners every single match because of Max and BRB. I spend more match time waiting for banners to stop than making matches. Been taking him out first just to get rid of the opponent banners. My main problem then becomes I get rolled by Polaris if my gain purp ap support doesn't hit(so jubes can stun)or a bad board. Not having much fun but the grind continues.
