Hi,

I have 2x 4* Iron patriot cards that I want to ascend. However, these are the green superior 4* cards, base level is 2*.

How do I ascend them please? Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum! You'll need to get one of them to level 370 to ascend to a 5* cover.

And retro reward optimal on the ascended 5*, then both 4's should be maxed before ascending to 5.

I could be wrong but I thought max/min was best ascension once past their base level. That is, for example, your two 2*s should be max/max to ascend to three but once you have a three max you just need a min ascended three to ascend to 4 and so on.

Yes, but only for speed reasons then, if you badly need (want) a 5* version as quickly as possible. However this game is mostly about the long run and ressource hoarding which max/max ascending all the way , takes more time but, allows you to "double dip" in level rewards on the current lvl and instantly when ascending on the ascended lvl (hence the double dip and instant lvl progression) each and every time you ascend.

I think this depends on your play style, roster and resources. Statistically max/max gives the best long term rewards whereas max/ min+1 gives the faster access to better rewards. My 2a4 (highest is 329) to some degree but more my 3a4s (highest is 346) are taking forever to max. The opportunity cost of waiting another 18 months to max a 2nd character is early access to lots of CP, LT and LL, all of which accelerate my roster.

I'm max/maxing my 2a3s because 100 covers isn't that bad in terms of time and the rewards aren't worth the early access.

Also depends on whether you want to use that character at 5 star level. If this is just a reward factory then max/max makes the most sense. But if this is a character who has value as a 5 star then you want to ascend with max/min+1

It's a trade off I think, because 5* rewards are more than 33% better for a long time. So having access to better rewards early is an additional benefit (I.e. easier to 550 LLs etc).

It'll take a loooong time to get that one iron patriot to 370, it'll take crazy long to get the other one up there lol. Unless it's a **** character you never intend to use, might as well ascend sooner rather than later. Lots of 4s get very badass at 5

Iron Patriot gets a bit worse as a 5 because his purple gets more expensive.

But realistically his powers are a bit expensive and he has no passives besides some match dmg and dmg resistance so odds are you’re not using him much as a 5 regardless.

    I recommend max-min all 2-4s to 5s.

I fully expect his purple to get more expensive, that much board shake, all those crit tile, and 5 star match damage and health. There needs to be some trade off.

But with widow batons, the quantum realm, the power stone, and ap boosts there are ways to keep that from slowing him down too much.

It goes from 9 to 12, so it is slightly harder to cast turn0 but not significantly so.

At 9 you need either both 6ap supports to fire, or one 6ap support plus AP boosts. At 12 you need both 6ap supports to fire.

If it went from 6 to 12 then yeah, that's a really big deal.
