Player Rank 2nd is a Myth - Suggestion on New Ranking System

Whats the point of having rank 2nd, 3rd, etc when just by missing the smallest objective that result your score 1-3 less point than perfect could drop your rank from 1st to 20+th??

Cutting number of max player in each pool doesnt solve the problem, because the problem is the how the ranking system itself.

Suggestion:
Group same score as single rank

example:
current rank system

• RANK 1
• player A 160 (max)
• player B 160
• player C 160

• player D 160
  ...

• RANK 20+

• player ZZ 158

suggested new rank system
If the scoring objectives are: 5, 3, 2, then

• RANK 1
• all player(s) scores 160
• RANK 2
• all player(s) scores 158 (failed once third objective)
• RANK 3
• all player(s) scores 157 (failed once second objective)
• RANK 4
• all player(s) scores 156 (failed twice third objectives)
• RANK 5
• all player(s) scores 155 (failed once first objective / once each on second and third objectives)
  and so on
