Hi all. I used to champ my 4 star dups as soon as I was able to, but the ISO just started evaporating. So now I have like 17 unchamped 4 star dups with between 1 to 13 covers saved.

So my question to the forum is what do you do with your 4 star dups? Champ right away? Wait until you have a certain number of covers to get the rewards? Wait until they have max covers??

I have also been waiting for one of the 4 unchamped dups I have to become a new 5 star feeder so I can double dip on rewards, but that has not happened yet.

If you are short of ISO the answer is basically just leave them unchamped since you can keep saving covers and it costs you no ISO.

Then only champ if they become a feeder for a new 5 so you can champ and ascend and double dip on the ascension rewards.

I'd agree with @KGB . I champ as the max currently, but there was a time when I was rapidly using up a ton of ISO. My suggestion would be two things:
1) Check your average net Iso position for a few seasons without champing the dupe of you can. This might look like:
Spend:-500k on the new 5☆, -360k on the new 4☆, -110k on the new 3☆.
Net gain from Oct 14th - Nov 11th = 150k
Iso income = 1.12m
2) Write your priority list for spending Iso, eg.
a) champ the new 4☆
b) get the 5☆ to a high a level as possible
c) champ 3☆
d) add to 3☆ dupe
e) add to 4☆ dupe

That way, if you suddenly get 13 covers for the new 5☆ you know what you have to sacrifice to level it.

If I want to max-max (majority), I wait until I have 100 saved covers before champing and ascending.

If I want to min-max (a few), I either champ right away because I’m impatient, or wait until I have 36 covers, which is my preferred spot for maximizing retro feeder awards if that is ever relevant.

I roster the dupe but don't bother champing. Just letting the saved covers pile up, instead.
My highest dupe is currently at 94 saved covers.
I suppose I will finally champ him (dupe 4Juggs) when he gets to 113 saved covers (making the dupe an instant 370, then a fully-covered triplicate).
Note, I don't ascend 4*s, so my approach at the end may vary from what you might want to do.

If I actually played enough to use health-packs on 4Juggs, I guess I would benefit from having two high-level 4Juggs; but I don't so I hardly see much value in champing him now. The champ rewards would all just be unused drops in my hoard-buckets, anyway.

Finally finished tacking all of my 5s to max level iso-wise this year. Now back filling the 4s by who has the most saved covers. I project that I'll be in the post iso crowd in about 6 months.
