Sovereign Okinec Ahau buffs on its own [To Be Fixed]

This card says it gives +x/+x until end of turn, x being the greatest power among "other" creatures you control. However, my opponent's Ahau blinked +3/+3 played on its own. This leads me to believe that Ahau just checks for the highest power creature on its controller's field, and doesn't ignore itself.

Does anyone else have this card to see if the same is true while you're playing it, versus it working only for Greg?
