Downwind Ambusher only gives -2/-2 the first time

Downwind Ambusher's ability says when it enters the battlefield, target opposing creature gains Imminent Death. Then, all opposing creatures get -2/-2.

However, if a creature has been hit with the -2/-2, it can't get it again.

I just had this happen to me in Colors of Magic... Greg cast 2 Downwind Ambushers on his turn, and at the end of that turn my 3/3 Glissa Sunseeker was now a 1/1, instead of having died from being given -4/-4

Which creature did Greg target with each Downwind Ambusher? Since the -2/-2 is conditional on giving a creature Imminent Death if Greg targeted the same creature with both Downwind Ambushers then the second -2/-2 could have failed due to not haven given Imminent Death to a creature since your creature already had it.

Never mind. I tested it quick and even if you give Imminent Death to two different creatures which didn't already have it the second -2/-2 won't stack on to the creatures that got the first -2/-2.
