As we mark the one-year anniversary of taking over Magic: Puzzle Quest, we reflect on how far we’ve come. This moment holds deep significance for us—not just as a point in time, but as a symbol of the effort, dedication, and passion we've poured into every aspect of the game we cherish.

From the start, we knew we were stepping into big shoes, and it’s taken dedication, patience, and countless hours to truly get under the hood of Magic: Puzzle Quest. We’ve spent this time digging deep into the systems, addressing the challenges presented by issues, and learning the fine art of what makes this game tick. Looking back, this year has been all about mastering those inner workings—laying the groundwork for what comes next.

Throughout the year, we’ve addressed numerous bugs, both old and new, and worked behind the scenes to put preventative measures in place. Your reports have been crucial to this process, and we remain committed to responding to them quickly and acting efficiently with your help. On the content side, six new sets saw the light of day and successfully brought the MPQ release dates closer to the paper Magic sets—an achievement we’re proud of. We’re committed to continuously refining the handling of these releases, with an eye toward delivering even better experiences in the future.

In terms of Quality of Life improvements, we rolled out new card filters, revamped the Legacy Crafting system, and began updating our FAQ library, translating it into all supported languages. These changes were guided largely by your feedback, and we’re committed to keeping this dialogue open to further improve clarity and ease of use in the game. You may have also noticed some fresh takes on events as we’ve been experimenting with new formats to keep things engaging while refining our approach.

As we look ahead, we’re excited about what the future holds, but we’re also careful about pacing ourselves. We’ve laid a solid foundation this year, and now we feel ready to start building on it—one step at a time. Our long-term plans are ambitious: we envision a redesigned interface, improvements to in-game currencies and economy, matchmaking and ranking systems, and possibly expanding real-time PvP. But we want to be clear: we’ll approach each of these upgrades methodically, focusing on delivering quality at every step. It’s important to us that we take our time to get things right, rather than rushing them out.

We’re also keen to strengthen our bonds with you, the community. Your willingness to help new players, your thoughtful feedback, and your shared passion for Magic: Puzzle Quest inspire us every day. We’re planning new ways to enhance this engagement, but as we mentioned above, we want to be careful to do it right.

This year has been about laying the Foundation. The next one? It’s about building something even greater. We’re incredibly excited for what’s to come, and we can’t wait to take you along for the ride!

@Magic:PQ Support Team , you guys have done an OUTSTANDING job in the last year, regardless of struggles and setbacks, overall, you've knocked it out of the park, and I am SO excited for what this next year has in store... (I take ALL of the things you listed above as "THIS YEAR" implementations, right? )

Congrats WC and happy anniversary. To another 20 years of play.

Congratulations with the anniversary! I'm also looking forward to what the next year will bring.

  • Hold on a sec... Isn't that a set coming in paper?>!

Congrats on the anniversary from here as well! There's been ups and downs with y'all getting your footing (there was concern with the Authority of the Consuls stuff for one, and still kinda some with the Kasmina conversion nerf), but it's still been interesting times. WotC's schedule and stuff probably has made keeping up hectic, but I can imagine that it has also given a lot to work with. Pour one out with the loss of Julie this year, and that likely has made community ties perhaps frayed. With that, I've kinda fallen behind on keeping up with the forum and Discords, and stuff like that, but still hoping that everyone is doing alright

Massive thanks for all that you have done this year for the game and the community. We're all still here because of your dedication to save the game. Frick, I think I need to give you more money.

Thank you so much for addressing many of my concerns--the ability to craft specific legacy sets and eliminating the recharge timers on events are huge quality of life improvements and it's made it easier for us to enjoy the game. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Although I don't know. And I found out that it was already 20 years old!

Thank you so much for making the game with such quality that everyone is happy. But I'm looking forward to the new event and what you all will do next.
Good luck to you and I look forward to what new achievements and stories the next year will bring! )

Congrats! Huge thanks to the Webcore team for all the awesome improvements to the game. It’s hard to believe it’s only been a year with all the positive changes, especially the updates to the node recharging system that no longer force me to sacrifice my health to complete coalition events. That means a lot to me personally. It’s clear you listen to us and are passionate about making the game better. Wishing you even more success and can’t wait to see more fun and exciting updates from Webcore in the future!
