So Rogue was recently in Classic Legends a few months ago and she's back again. Clearly the devs keep putting the same ones and not rotating in properly characters that should be in the poll.

I decided to make a thread here to track the 4*s and make sure there are no repetitions within 1 year.

    Just to be sure, you know the characters that get increased chances are voted on by the community, right?

    I've been tracking my Classic Legend pulls for a while now. Here is the record I have of the 4s that have been boosted. I have the date when I made the pulls which is close but may not be an exact match for the season starts.

    Yes. The developers can exclude the repetitions from the list. It's that simple. Or schedule them 9 or 10 months later.

    That's that's only a 4 month turn around until Rogue came back. They could have removed her from the list and added Winter Soldier or some other character.

    IIRC when Howard was in the list, it was revealed that the lists were randomly generated, which will explain repetition.

    But that's not to say that they shouldn't be on a list, because in 3 years time you'll be down to 7 C-tier characters and nobody will want them. You'll get the "hard skip" comments, and people will get grumpy at "being forced to hoard" and how it's stifling roster development for a whole month.

    If Rogue went into the list every month I'd expect people would stop voting for her. Twice in 4 months isn't that bad - vote for someone else.

    Question for any/all: Would it be better if they came up with a long list of all 152 4s and over the course of 15 months you pick the 3 you like best out of the current group of 10? Then at that point you start again with 167 characters etc?

    Or would it be better if every month it randomly created a list from all?

    Or…. Would it be better if they seed in more popular ones for 1-2 spots and let the rest be based on a long list?

    You easily could get a season where you get 10 choices that are all in the bottom 1/2 to 1/3 of the tier and don’t feed anyone very interesting if it’s entirely random in which case “meh”.

    This particular season i haven’t even bothered with Classics yet (going for the Hotpool store) and it’s not a very compelling group, but there could be even less appealing ones. Rogue is useful, Spidey IW could be a good part of a web team.

    Sorta. If they put, say, Polaris, or Juggernaut in the voting pool every time, they would probably win every time, and a lot of players would probably be very happy with that. Another (smaller?) group might be upset that we weren't getting much variety.

    I did track boosted 5s, but when I looked at my tracking, there were a few months where I didn't get all 3 of the boosted 5s so there are some gaps. I didn't pull as many CL tokens in months when I had one of the boosted 5s fully covered. Here is what I've got for the boosted 5s with a few repeats in these cycles already:

    How are the the boosted-odds classics working out for you guys in practise?

    I've pulled a bunch of classics this month, but so far I've drawn half a dozen 5* and not a single one was one of the boosted-odds 5* .

    My Classics pulls result in the boosted-odds covers often enough that I notice.

    Yeah, I don't have a spreadsheet or anything, but I pull enough that I notice them. They do publish the odds for this...

    I shared my tracked pulls when I posted the list of boosted 4s above.

    About 7% of CL tokens have been for a boosted 5. Helps to add a cover or 2, but I don't think it's near enough to fully cover a character or get a baby champ to 550.

    About 20% of pulls were for a boosted 4. This, I think, would be the selling point to busting a large amount of CPs in a given month. Along with shards, you can make good progress to ascending a specific 4.

    Each month I take a "census" of the covers on my roster. How many rostered covers I have for each character. For 4s a covered character = 13 covers, a maxchamped character = 113 covers, a max+min ascension = 126 covers, a max+max ascension = 226 covers, a 550 4* (as if I had any ...) = 526 covers.

    All this year (2024) the mode gain across all 4*s has been +2 covers a month. If a character is in event rewards, that will add 2 or more covers, if they are in a vault that can add a few or a LOT depending on the vault, characters that are in bonus odds add 12-16 covers a month, and favoriting generates 30-40 covers a month.

    Obviously the cover flow for 5s is lower. A typical 5 adds 0-2 covers a month. Some 5s go MONTHS without adding a single cover. Classic 5s at bonus odds will add 2-4 more covers that month.

    So, yes, I absolutely notice the characters who are bonus'd each season!

    For further context, I am usually using all CP on classics, unless a more attractive offer is available, and I let LTs pile up. When I open LTs there's an additional spurt of progress across the board on 4s, and favorited 5s, of course.
