What happens to Unclaimed Quests?

After completing a quest, is it necessary to hit that CLAIM button? Or will rewards auto-claim once they expire/new rewards appear? Or do they remain on the quest log with the claim button? What happens???

    I think you have to claim them before quest expires, otherwise they’re gone.
    Auto-claim would be awesome tho.

    Auto-claim on tokens like daily quests would be great, but no auto claim on rewards that are shards, (in case you don't currently want the shards to go on your favorite yet) or on a cover of something (in case you can't roster it or want to wait) O:)
