Gamblers or Dedicated supporters

10 Pack format 2= no guaranteed characters= Intermittent reinforcement. This type of reinforcement encourages people with a gambling addiction to spend tons of money on this game to see what they get. These people will spend money on the game until they run out of money to spend or borrowed money to spend. This causes the game it self to have a rapid increase in profit at first as these addicts will spend more money than other player spent on a somewhat guaranteed thing.

10 pack format 1= guaranteed characters= somewhat constant positive reinforcement. This type of reinforcement encourages rational steadily increasing spending. People that bought this packs enjoy the game and spend money for three reasons A. they enjoy the game and want to support it and help it grow. B. they enjoy the new character designs and want to have fun in the game through using that character. C. They like winning

I guess this just leaves the question: What type of player do you want to encourage: Gamblers or People that appreciate and want to support your work?

    Being honest I really don't think they care as long as the money is rolling in.

    If the midden were to ever hit the windmill about official complaints by any governing body/authority then all D3P have to do is hide behind the fact that chances are clearly stated.

    Format 1 does nothing to discourage gamblers from spending. It also encourages a rapid increase in spending if people knew they were guaranteed certain covers. I think its safe to also say addicts - enjoy the game, enjoy new character designs and want to have fun in the game through using that character, and of course like winning.
    If people stopped buying the 10 packs, D3 might increase the odds to promote sales. Even with increased odds all tokens are still gambles.
    All spending in this game is irrational lol. It is a free game.
