Thought the match was supposed to end when there was only one opponent left and two doom it’s, kind of like when Kang sends everyone away, but that isn’t happening.

Think you have to down or away the remaining opponents. Then if there are only Doombots left, you win.

Kang's passive actually says "you win the game if...". I don't see anything like that in Doom's kit.

RED Self Destruct – Each turn, lose 1 health and convert 1 Green tile to Black. If all allies are Downed or Doombots, this team loses.

It's not an alternative win condition though (waves might be buggy?), since you have to down the opponents anyway. It's just that so doom's 5hp bots don't make you take extra turns for no reason.

You thought matches would end when one opponent was still standing ... ?

    Why would you think that?

The match ends with a victory for 4Doom's team when only that 4Doom' infiltrators are on the opposing team. (Or when there's no one left, but that's normal).

    I guess I just can't read!

I am darn sure however the match will end if it's your doombots plus standard enemy doombots. I focused the 2 actual chars and left an enemy doombot standing and won without having to damage it.

The only way this seems different to normal winning is that it stops revivers. Otherwise you still have to kill the other team?

    Yup deffo stops revivers. Nice.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but it did it for me as well.

Yes, same on the 4E node in the second door for Strange Sights. Take out Doom, you win.

Also: I was trying iDoom on the ddq Big Enchilada (6 person wave). For the first 3 as I downed them, no Doombots appeared. Then I got downed the 4th and auto-won. It was weird.

I don't get it. He looks like a niche character to me.
The one thing he does well works, but the rest is boring.

The revive meta was already handled with the Chasm nerf, so why is this exciting now?
iHulk isn't even around anymore, and Chasm has runaway too.

Is there something besides trucking the revive meta I'm not seeing?

I mean...it's neat to have a character that makes minions that help you?

Is it "exciting"? Not necessarily but what do you expect at this point with 325 other characters doing stuff already? I don't think anyone's falling over themselves with him.

I think most vets can handle the revivers with various other counters, but maybe in 4 land it would be helpful to have someone that blocks a fairly low cover iHulk/Moondragon team.

Worth remembering that newer players don't have all the old tools and can be very far away from them, either from covers or iso or both.

    It's at least fun.

I will give you that. It's "fun".
But from what I have seen the doompoo's really do nothing besides occupying revive space. A clever way of stopping a revive.
If I had to posit it, this toon was released as a test to stop revives. And, he is a stopgap before they do a new tech/engine release sometime in the next 12 months. To me he seems like a tech test released as a character and nothing more, because really he only does 1 thing.

I agree with diantics - this seems to be a counter for a meta already countered. That said it was pretty nice not to see the iHulk I fought revive so there is that.

It's pretty weird that we got this guy now. I don't think he'd have killed Chasm (maybe if folks raced him to 5*, but probably not), but how long were we begging for a guy that passively turned off resurrection?

I don't think he's completely useless -- the attack tiles power and buffing is good, and his black power will probably be good cheap damage. But the Chasm nerf does kill most of his potential utility.

"Niche" character is hardly an insult, it's to be expected. How many "general purpose" characters MPQ characters are there? Unless you're playing direct dmg only, there are zero. All abilities fall into one or another meta, which is ... a niche.

He is quite useful in attack tile meta, so has lots of punchy friends, and a few spammy friends.

"The revive meta was handled with the Chasm nerf ... iHulk isn't around anymore ..." Ha. Come hang out in my sim for a few minutes. Chasm is on every node. iHulk isn't as common as Chasm but on 10-15% of the queues, usually partnered with She-Hulk or MoonDragon. Another tool for the Zombie-Fightin' toolbox is welcome ... unfortunately he'll have to be ascended and ideally levels piled on top of that, to be viable.
