Experiences of a new player
I stumbled across this game a couple months ago and while i have enjoyed it unless things change i don't see myself playing from now on. Here are my thoughts on it all.
It has taken me nearly 400 hours and $150 to finally see how some combination of heroes works really well together. The fun part of the game and what should be the driving force behind getting people to stay and play is this synergy that hardly anyone new to the game will see. If you think forcing people to spend hundreds of dollars (thousands???) or making them grind for thousands of hours will make this a successful game then all i can say is good luck with that but like most people i'll be playing something else more fun and giving them my money instead. In this time i have a lvl128 c daken, 100 hulk, 100 hood, 85 ares/thor/obw plus a bunch of other 3' sitting in the lvl20-40 bracket.
You dont force people into playing because they feel like they have to, to progress, you do it by making a fun game. What's astounding is this is a fun game that is hidden behind the worst pay to win wall i have seen. Yet most people are unlikely to see the synergies between heros as they will be busy playing some other game thinking this is a just a bejeweled grinding simulator.
You are constantly releasing new heroes but other than the hardcores who play for hours a day every day or the whales the average player has no chance at building a roster. The average player might get a few covers of a hero they like then the game moves onto another one and they either have to wait or be forced to spend ridiculous amounts of money to level one up if they managed to get all 3 of their powers.
Compare this game to say League of legends. I have spent hundreds of dollars in that game and have dozens and dozens of heroes to play with. If i spent the same amount of money in this game i would be lucky to have 1 hero maxed out let alone a decent roster.
Speaking of LOL instead of charging ridiculopus amounts for the main game why not design alternative covers that people can buy that have no impact on gameplay but look cool. I'm sure some people would pay money for them.
Its nearly impossible to build a deck with the random of buying cards. Since season 2 started i have opened a 10 pack reward plus over 20 individual cards i have won from lighting rounds or pve events and not recieved a single 3' card. I would advise any new player to never buy a pack from you guys as its just giving you free koney for nothing.
A friend who started playing at the same time as me but casually still hasn't a full 2' deck let alone a 3'. It would take him years to build up a decent roster and well that ain't happening lol.
