Game Crashes when attempting to Ascend Loaner

In the Fight for Wakanda PvE, you get a loaner 4* Black Panther character for the 1v1 battles in the main sub.

When I click on this character for details, the Ascend button is available. I wanted to see if I could ascend the loaner with my own champed 4* Black Panther so I clicked the Ascend button and got the 'Ascension Binding' popup. I clicked the Ascend button and the game crashes to my Android phone desktop.

The Ascend button should not be available or else the game should tell you that this character can't ascend rather than crashing to desktop.
