Character looks mid, and the 3* actually looks better.
She has mid tier health at 72k, and only 3 basic affiliations.
Reminds me thematically like Mr Negative.
Nothing special here.1 -
That's alot of words isn't it?
14 -
tfw the new character ability descriptions are a 10,000 character essay
(obviously inflated by listing them on all ability levels with min and max char level... but still...)
0 -
A LOT of words. I feel like I could finish the game quicker than reading what her powers do.
0 -
You guys REALLY love your words my god.
And after scrolling through all of that... Strange in her release store.
Because of course he is.1 -
"So Clem what does this new character do?"
"I started to read the description then slowly lost my mind"2 -
Are we getting double progression rewards? Cosmic Chaos and Unstable Iso8 both giving shards.
0 -
I realize that it's next to impossible to create new powers these days, but holy wow is that a lot of text.

Hunter! A fine addition to the MPQniverse.
Power-wise I think it might have been better to simply copy & paste the 3* powers, but I like that even with the wall of text it will pretty intuitive in game what the Hunter is about.
1 -
Need a phD in Rocket Science to be able to fully understand the capacity of what all her powers do.

At first glance... I'm not enthused. Yes, I actually read all 80,000 words. I have been wrong plenty of times trying to predict a character's usefulness, so there's a caveat. But overall, the numbers aren't great, the powers are... Odd, and outside of another rare 5 star stunner I can't even find a use. Unique light/dark points that can't be earned or used by anyone else, middling powers... Feels like wasp

I only hope this means we eventually get a 5* Dracula.

I know you guys have a "budget" for 5* powers, but I think you need to increase that, especially with ascended 4* being so much better. Most of the 5s this year have been very underwhelming.
Unity Collar:
- Why is it draining blue AP at a 2:1 ratio? You can already get light/dark pts through plain matches, this whole part just seems convoluted, bad, and unnecessary.
Bladestorm:
- Weak numbers, very low. 14k aoe damage for 7 purple and needing to prep light points beforehand at 550?
Annihilation: Can be more damage but also requires a ton of prep to hit decent levels
Slash:
- Cheap, but also very weak. When you finally champ a 5* and look at it's powers you want to go "wow now they're really badass." 2 hits of 6700 isn't that.
Quick Slash:
- Somehow even weaker than slash despite needing prep? There's no mention of it's cost being a minimum of 3, which I assume is a typo, otherwise it could cost 0 and obviously be insane. AT 3 ap it would be fairly good, but again, pile of work and you can't use her purple ever.
Merciless Slash:
- Permanent damage is garbage and always has been. Omega Red is the only one who doesn't suck at it, and it's largely irrelevant on his power, just a nice bonus when it triggers. Only time his (and to a lesser extent, crystal) perma damage matters is specifically fighting a pvp team with multiple revivers. Perma damage makes the actual numbers on the attack lower, and these are ALREADY very low. Again, at 450 doing 7k permanent damage after multiple turns of gathering AP and dark points is extremely unimpressive. I guess if you get 30 dark points a 10 turn stun is kind of neat, though if it's taking you that long to kill a team I don't know if 10 turns is enough. Is there a cap on light/dark pts btw?
Inspire:
- The first part is pretty neat. Cheap, nice buff, but quickly becomes UNUSABLE because it goes away when you gain 2 points.
Heal:
- Decent at 4+, but the way it's written, it sounds like if you make one black/purple match and gain a dark point, this power changes? What happens when you have 1 of each?
Dark Heal:
- Looks like real healing but again too complicated. Need to go through multiple steps to just get 15k healing at 450. Yeah it's (theoretically) true healing, but Hunter's way too much work to be used as a health pack on a stick.
Release vault - Dr Strange, really? Might as well just have him have a chance of bonus shards in every CP vault at this point, make him like a MPQ mascot.
Like I said, the budget for 5*s really needs a revamp. 50-75% of the 5s have been relatively meh, where even their biggest defenders could only say "Well he's not bad when boosted" about them. I think a 450 Omega Red could do WAY more stunned for 4 turns than Hunter could do with 4 carefully planned and executed ones. I mean, Magik just does permanent damage on her own better, and that's still trash.
For Hunter not to be a complete waste some/a lot of her kit would have to be passive'd up, permanent damage completely removed/overhauled, damage numbers boosted, and maybe more. Hard to tell without knowing how some of the light/dark point stuff interacts. Is it going to be like Legion where you have little control over when the powers switch?
Maybe let us choose light/dark before the battle, ala Doop. It would mean far less text to read in battle and make things a lot simpler.

I started reading and just had to scroll. WAYYYY too much going on. Will just wait for someone to tell me exactly what she does and best way to use her.

My only complaint about this character is that it seems to be the nameless player character from the other video game Midnight Suns rather than any of the other yet to be included Marvel Midnight Sons comic characters. Danny Ketch (ghost rider), Johnny Blaze (no spirit of vengeance), Lilith (a different character than Dracula's daughter), and Blackout are probably the only "real" characters we don't have, but I'd settle for Meatmarket, Nakota, or Pilgrim lol.

I'm still salty we never got Werewolf by Night or at least were rewarded with the Giant Sized Man Thing we all deserve.
