Lost in Caverns of Ixalan

“As the River Heralds began to decipher the ancient map, they were staggered by the vastness of the world-within-the-world that it revealed.”

The consequences of the Phyrexian invasions were terrible. Ixalan as a whole suffered at the hands of the Phyrexians, but this triggered a new cycle of expeditions. A new world within the plane full of wonders and riches brought a new rush for exploration. A new world full of new dangers to be unveiled.

“We weren’t fleeing a broken world. We were running toward paradise!”

The aftermath of the Phyrexian invasion affected all tribes of Ixalan pretty hard; which made the new discoveries coming through the recently found caverns to the underground even more enticing. Karn, the Great Creator

Although Karn is nearly indestructible, Urza designed him to experience pain and feelings. He can understand most technological devices with a single touch and quickly create artifacts or automatons without the need for components or materials. He can use his ability to deconstruct technology, but he loathes to do so as destruction goes against his philosophy of respecting creation.

  • Ability 1 - Creator Engine (Max. Level)
Fetch the first Artifact card from your library. Your colored mana bonuses are increased by 2. Each mana bonus can’t be raised by this ability more than 3 times.

  • Ability 2 - Assemble Machinery (Max. Level)

Create a Construct token. Then: That creature gets +X/+X and gains Hexproof and Defender. X is the number of Artifact cards you control including their reinforcements.

    • Construct token
      Colorless
      Artifact Creature - Construct
      1/1
  • Ability 3 - Argentum Might (Max. Level)
Reinforce all Artifact creatures you control. Then: Your Artifact creatures get +X/+X and Trample. X is the number of Artifact cards you control including their reinforcements.

Jace, the Perfected Mind

Jace is a master of mind-reading, and memory modification, and is a master illusionist. Even with his unrivaled experience and strategy, he was open to the Phyresis infection by the hands of his loved one, Vraska. After being compleated, he went toward the Seedcore and Realmbreaker with The Filigree Sylex in hand, and he intended to activate it, no matter the cost.

  • Passive Ability - Compleated Intelligence
At the beginning of your turn: If you have less than 4 cards in your hand, draw cards equal to the difference.

  • Ability 1 - Synthetic Expansion (Max. Level)
Create 2 Phyresis Converter tokens. Then: If you have 80 or less life - Create X Phyrexian Gems. X is the number of creature and support cards in opponent’s graveyard.

    • Phyresis Converter
      Support (B)
      Shield 2
      Can’t be reinforced

When you exile a card from your hand: Gain 2 mana. When a Phyrexian gem is matched by swap: The first card in your hand without Compleated gains Compleated. Then: If this support has the Augmentation Emblem: Your opponent's mana bonus of the matched color becomes 1 until the end of their next turn.

  • Ability 2 - Corrupted Mindfield (Max. Level)
Create 2 Phyresis Converter Tokens. Then: Destroy the top 5 cards of your opponent's library. If you do: All opposing creatures get -X/-0. X is the number of cards destroyed from your opponent's library this turn.

  • Ability 3 - Illusion of Free Will (Max. Level)
Draw X cards, then give them Y mana. X is 1 plus the number of cards named Phyresis Converter you control, up to 6. Y is the number of cards in all graveyards. Phyresis Converter cards you control gain the Augmentation Emblem.

Lord Windgrace

Lord Windgrace was a panther warrior planeswalker from Urborg on Dominaria. He was one of the Nine Titans that Urza gathered to fight Phyrexia. Windgrace had a distaste, maybe even an outright hatred, for anything artificial. He attempted to seal the time rift in Urborg to prevent a mass of Phyrexians from pouring in. As the rift vanished from existence, so too did Lord Windgrace. After his death, he became a protective Avatar of Urborg.

  • Ability 1 - One of the Titans (Max. Level)
Draw a card. If that card is a Land card, convert 5 gems to Red.
Activate Black 3: Draw a card. It gains 5 mana.

  • Ability 2 - Machine Distrust (Max. Level)
Create 2 Panther Den Support tokens. Create 2 Green Cat tokens. An opposing nonland support loses X shield. X is the number of Cat creatures and Cat reinforcements you control, up to 9.

    • Panther Den
      Can't be reinforced
      Support - Land
      Shield 3
At the beginning of your turn: Create a Green Cat token.

    • Green Cat
      Creature - Cat
      2/2

  • Ability 3 - Protector of Urborg (Max. Level)
Increase the cost of all cards in your opponent's hand by 12. Create 10 Green Cat tokens. Each nonToken opposing support loses 6 shield. This effect can affect Vanguard supports.

This release features ten new Vanguards:

They can be obtained in LCI Vanguard packs, which will be available in the Vault for the first time just after the release. After this, they’ll be added to the normal Vanguard rotation.

Fixes

Quality of Life Improvement

As hinted previously, while we worked to fix a bug with Karn, the Great Creator, we noticed some changes required cache to be cleared in order to be loaded properly. This is the same process required after game updates and in some systems might involve even reinstalling the app.

We implemented a native feature that will do this process in the background when opening the app, automatically, quietly and smoothly. With this new feature, we expect that having to manually clear cache or reinstall the app becomes a rare occurrence and that your game data stays up-to-date. :)
