Fleshing out 2* roster - need advice

I know about 2* Mag+Storm combo for PvE so that's definitely something I'll put Iso later. Will max OBW (just got 2 missing covers). My question is who to level up as third Hero for PvE/Simulator, or is it worth it at all? Ares+OBW cover all colour except having Black sink. Currently I'm using Vacoom Storm for better Red and some Black use. Would Daken or Bullseye fare better? Daken won't tank anything and got nerfed, but it's still strike tiles double dipping on OBW isn't it? Bullseye would give decent black and some more tankiness. Get Thor there for lulz? Or maybe just wait for decent 3*?

Also, I have 3 BP and one lDaken covers in stash and I don't think I'll manage 600 for another 2 slots (thanks D3P, not being able to buy one cover slot really helps!) and I don't plan on giving out more money so will need to drop 2 Heroes. Hesitating on which. Moonstone + IM40/IM35?

I would drop Bullseye and Modern Hawkeye to make room for BP/lDakan.

For PvE, I would just run Modern Storm if you need a third. She gives you enough board control with her red and green.

Due to how hard/long it is to obtain 3* covers you will most likely be maxing multiple 2* characters way before you ever get a 3* to 100+ and useable. Out of your current roster the 2*s that you will most likely have least use for would be bullseye, moonstone, hawkeye and wolverine (2* version, he's not bad but he is not as good as the main 6 2*s imo, save him for last tho when deciding who to cut). So you can safely let those go. You will also get a million covers to remake them if you want later. Lvling Thor might seem pointless as you have ares but he is far from it. Thor/ares teams in pvp are the only 2* team that other 2* teams might skip just due to how long it takes to win and the real possibility of taking damage from at least one of them. Also when you have to face ares is Pve (which happens very often) you won't be able to use him and Thor is a much better alternative than im35. Max obw for sure, then I would get Thor up, followed by Cstorm/mn mags.

Following the guide linked above, I have max'ed out the following 2*: Original Black Widow, Thor, Wolvie, Ares, Classic Storm and I plan to max out Marvel Now Magneto.
