chat log is not long enough

this isn't a bug so much as general use issue, but the chat log isn't nearly long enough. i play in an alliance with players who are almost all on another time zone than i am. so when i wake up and look at the chat log it only has a fraction of what's happened.

is there anyway to keep the log up until your last message sent since that is typically a message sent at the end of the day, or something like a hundred messages, whichever is longer?
