How feasible is 1100 in a tourney for a 2* team?

Yet another episode in my quest to get 3* covers. Today, I'm wondering how hard it might be to get 1100 in a tourney and a guaranteed cover. The best I ever did was when I kept getting one 20-pt team after another one day, and ended up around 900-950. But they were starting to drop to 17, then 15, then 12, and then I was running into 3* teams (not to mention fatigue).

How feasible is 1100? Even for a less popular character like Doom or Rag? (Something tells me I wouldn't get L.Thor this way.)

Not very feasible at all. Sure it happens, but you have almost zero chance of doing that consistently.

You best best for a high placement is to get into a late bracket, boost like hell and speed rush the last 3 hours. One other tip would be to develop a second OBW so that you can extending out the play session.

Ultimately, your problem is that your gonna see teams with more health points than you and higher damage per turn. All games eventually boil down to who has more HP and who does more damage per second.

Currently, your MMR determines matches until around 700 points, if you're still mid-game, you'll face many similar two star teams. After 700 points the doors open wide and you face everyone with similar point totals, you'll see powered and underpowered teams, but you can pick your fights. Between 700 and 900 are many many featured +2* +2* teams like yourself that are scrambling for points. The faster and tighter you play the further you'll get before the retaliation hammer starts to hit you. After 900 points, you'll hit the heavies. Most teams will be Featured +141 +141 and you look delicious to them. You'll push a few points, then get eaten for 150 or more within five minutes. Panicking, you'll shield.

Now this is where it comes down to your resources and goals. Do you have HP to spare? Are you going to top 10 with your score? How bad do you want the progression reward?

Now, you could shield hop two matches at a time, waiting 20 minutes between each to allow losses to slide off your shield, and you'll start to get close to 1000. At this point, you may have spent 300 or 450 HP already. To get to 1100 is brutal, as sharks are constantly sniping at that point total and everyone is hyper aggressive. The only people unshielded are the insane, unprepared, and truly powerful. You'll burn hundreds of ISO skipping the same opponents over and over and over. You'll question why you actually play this stupid game. You'll want to break your phone/tablet/computer. Your loved ones will become concerned. You'll burn 600HP and 1000 ISO, but you'll get there. Shiny well earned 3* cover.

Now just ask yourself, should you just have spent 1250 up front and had a better featured character to begin with? Or was the half-price discount worth the grind it took? Thats up to you, but it is doable.

  • challenge accepted! if I were to do it I would need

    Ingredients
    ISO: 2000 - 5000
    HP: 750
    Time: Plenty

    Steps
    1) Enter a bracket early and start fooling around
    2) Go to bed and wakes up with a list of hits (and retals)
    3) T-1.5days, play to 800-900 and shield while keeping 2 high value targets in your nodes (preferably someone u know is so awesome he will appreciate in score)
    4) Pay your skip tax and look for valuable targets
    5) Unshield, boost (ISO boost only) and play 1 game. 2* rooster usually too slow get in 2 matches, especially when you have a hi score. Shield up.
    6) Repeat step 4 and 5

provided you start at 800 and get an average of 30pts per hop, you would need 750 HP. considering you are likely to get back a coveted cover, the 1st prize 4*, couple of 3* and some HP. I say it's worth it if you do it once in a while.

How do you develop a second OBW? I tried doing that but it won't let me add another OBW to my roster. Instead it tries to alter the power combination

There is a tiny star. Press it

    Top right corner
  • Maybe it's possible, but it'd take a whole lot of effort, frustration and HP.
I rarely get past 900 with my 2* team, but I'm not really willing to shield hop. Honestly with the amount of shields I'd have to use, I'd be better off just buying the cover.

Oh, thanks. I'll give that a go

Near the end of season 1, I shield hopped into top 10 finishes, and got to 1,100 in the Lazy daken tournament with my 2* team. However, I have to say, I was always a nervous wreck whenever I broke shields until I was able to shield up again. So far this season, I haven't used a single shield, and am only shooting for top 50 if I care about the cover. Just got burned out from the stress of pushing. Now I have 1,450 HP, and trying to decide between buying a cover or more slots given the pending prologue healing nerf and am much more relaxed.

Well if you are getting to 1100 you are getting the top 50 covers guaranteed. Most likely a top 10 as well. So thats 2. But even with a stud roster getting the 1100 reward can be hard or frustrating because the amount of times you are attacked at that rating compared to say 900 is a lot more. So most of the time when you crest 1000 you start to get hit for more points while you are playing for lower points. Often you need to get lucky to not lose more than you gain in a time span at 1000 rating.

You need a fast team of a different caliber than a widow and ares. Even then it takes luck too.

If you do this at T - 1.5 day and aim to keep the 1st price, you need to add to this two 24h shields (or 24h + 8h if you finish your push after the 1 day and 8h mark).
    So these 750HP became 1200/1350HP.

I occasionally write technical documentation for laboratory standard operating procedures, not action scenes, but thanks!

instead of recruit or train, look a tiny blue icon on the right side of OBW where you get to recruit her
