PvE is obsolete, tedious, and boring. Why does nothing ever get changed?

    If that's addressed to me

A ) Sure, that's fine by me, don't they always win anyway?
B ) Bit lacking in imagination about how things could change. There have been a few suggestions on this thread and others for additions to PvE that would affect the points - things that would allow weaker rosters to punch above their weight with thoughtful play and reduce (remove if they get it right) the need for last minute button mashing or whatever the hell it is people do now that seems both vital and depressing to them, like some sort of fatal addiction.

Sorry, I was under the impression that some alliances told their members when to play.

There's no coordination, BUT PvE does have a single, optimal way to play, that's been documented and laid out for everyone. Someone spent tons and tons of time working out the way to do it and the competitive players are all following that one path.

It would be really fun if it changed all the time, though. Like, if they messed with point values or regeneration rates, or all the different events had different optimal paths that could change on every run.

You'd give all the strategy folks a lot of opportunities to work things out, and they'd have an actual advantage over others who didn't want to math everything out and were just following a guide.

That sounds like a truly horrible idea, one of the worst parts of MPQ is already the fixed schedule, finding ways to make it both fixed and less flexible would be the worst of both worlds.

I've never seen the "documented and laid out" PVE plan. Can we get it posted on the Forum? Just so I can see how badly wrong I play this game!

Sounds terrifying. I want to see it, too!

Until you get down to the spreadsheet people it's basically: open high value nodes first, then low value nodes.
    End grind reverse that order.
    That's it.

When you get to t2/5/10 strategies, there's... Very optimized ways to play.
But you need a big roster to even think about those.

The very optimized ways are what I want to see! MPQ is basically a fidget spinner for me, and I know I'm playing nowhere near optimally. I want to see how the other half lives.

Well for that you need the super secret spreadsheets from the t5 alliances.
You'll need to promise them your firstborn.
You also need to have Apoc and Bill at 550, plus the correct supports to get 0 turn victories.

Me too! Like do you have to sacrifice something on a Wednesday or is the secret Nick Fury (is that why his yellow got changed?)

Is that why I keep seeing Rumplestiltskin showing up in my retals?

I will say that the word "spreadsheet" does puncture things on the excitement side. The secret isn't being a super hero or having magic powers, it is being an uber nerd. It is like finding a treasure map and it leads you to Maths homework :(

I quit competing in PvE when those guys started doing this. After tapping died, and once the softcappers got killed off (via fixed level enemies per CL), PvE competition was purely skill/speed. Everybody at the top had basically the same roster, so the best/fastest player won.

After the spreadsheet thing happened, I kept losing to slower/less skilled players. I absolutely refuse to use a calculator to play this game, or whatever it is they do, so I gave up trying. Honestly it's more fun for me anyway -- this way I can run weird teams and try stuff out that I couldn't in PvP.

I imagine dragging all that kit into the toilet would have been a nightmare... 🤣

You're probably not far off, I know of more than a few top5 players who used Fury regularly (and without the intense spreadsheeting).

Precisely this. Only T1 I ever received was when Invisible Woman was released.

Ever since, I yawn at PvE in any competitive fashion as I prefer finding team chemistry, skip the first sub in each event to reach progression (enabling a day off in between events), and fighting up to 1200 in PvP without LINE assistance.
