Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice?

I’m feeling extra salty because I spent two days planning my decks for an absolute bloodbath in legacy ATV.

What a disappointing surprise to see standard BTP show up in the event queue today. I’m absolutely gutted.

I’ve wasted two days in-app fiddling around with stuff and now I’ve got to pivot back to dakkon & faithbound judge (and Pajami & judge and dawnheart martyr) which is what I’ve been playing for months and I’m so bored.

I’ve optimized my standard decks and they are unlikely to change until the meta rotates (or objectives get weird) so this isn’t very interesting… it’s just a chore.

I was looking forward to a breath of fresh air and a new challenge. I honestly don’t know why I even bother.

I hadn't started building yet, but what a disappointment for players who were eager to seek a challenge to break the monotony that standard coalition events have become.

Nah, those are two different groups you're trying to roll into one. Don't confuse the situation.

It would be interesting some events out of meta vs random decks (not overpowered or with the very best cards everybody is playing at platinum rank) where we can use lot of interesting existing cards that if you try to play now you will probably lose vs meta decks. With too many prevent damage creatures decks all removal based into damage are unplayable for example, and if you want to make a sinergy deck with not the most efficient cards becomes a hard and annoying games being overwhelmed by the broken cards everybody is playing.

Good compromise would be a world reborn from legacy. At least most people like it and it's not so controversial

Who are these “most people?” I hate AWR so much that I just don’t actually play that event.

Are we talking about same event? https://wiki.mtgpq.info/wiki/A_World_Reborn

It's easy event even for people with not so many cards and one of the events where people try get 100% on full coalition.

Yes, that's the one! I don't like the "bonus cards." I spend a lot of time crafting my decks and the inclusion of the extra cards messes up my maths and really spoils the fun for me. So I don't play it.

"*Since at least 2021, an additional card is drawn from the player's library in place of the bonus cards"

You can safely start playing again. There hasn't been bonus cards for years now.

That mechanic's been gone so long I didn't even remember it used to exist. Blast from the past!

Well! That's very good news. Maybe I'll give it a try again.

Not as bad as I thought. I'm not perfect, but I made progression easily. Would've been more fun with groups of 300 instead of 3000 though. Would be nice to see more variation on the leaderboard.

A lot more exciting than the usual standard events.

They could've cut it down to 2 days instead of 3 though. I'm sure players weren't expecting that.

As suggested countless times before, any PvP coalition event that rotates out from standard alongwith the set for which it was created, should be changed into an individual legacy event with the individual rewards increased to cover smaller brackets.

This is not even a new thing. This is what used to happen. But sadly for some reason it hasn't been done since Hibernum left.

Or better yet, make them block format.

Yes, block format would be very cool!

Just like other people here, I think this is the BEST event ever. I LOVE that challenge and the new variety. Instead of PMAjani and Dakkon, now facing PMA Blue decks on bottom, and Omni decks, that is so new, so exciting. Watching Greg, going on 3-4 extra swaps, having my hand empty all the time, this is absolutely awesome. Before I did not even know these decks exist, because I am playing boring standard decks all the time.

And just knowing that my coalition can count on my points, because there is no way, no how to lose on the bottom, that is absolutely re-assuring.

Thank you Devs, please run this event every single weekend from now on as coalition event, I just can't have enough of it!!!!
