Considering dropping money on the game for chars... advice?

So I have this roster:

I think I can reasonably get at least one BP cover from the Sim, maybe another if my alliance does well. I'm a fairly high-ranked player (600-800 in most PvP events) in an alliance which is just barely scraping top 100 at the moment (we missed top 100 by 40 points in the patch event), so I do okay on hero points, and I can occasionally get a 3* cover from the PvP events. I'm currently sitting on upwards of 50k ISO, and it's sorta burning a hole in my pocket.

I'm considering dropping somewhere between 20 and 50 bucks on the game. My questions would be:
1. Is this advisable or should I wait until I have a better roster/more ISO to work with?
2. Where do I get the most bang for my buck?

    Judging by other people's experiences that post on here, I think it would be a mistake to max out one 3 star. You could quickly find yourself in a higher MMR bracket than you can handle and then start routinely missing out on all PvP rewards.

    In your case, the better bang for your buck is to use HP to buy shields. Allowing you to shield hop to better PvP finishes and getting more HP/3 star covers in return.

    With your current Roster, ISO reserve, and characters with 4 covers , buying 8 covers (50$) in one character won't do you too much.

    It takes 171K Iso to go from level 15 to 141 on a 3*.

    Id recommend using HP for shielding / shield hopping to get top 50 or better. My friends who have 2* rosters can consistently get top 50 by shield hopping.

    IF YOU ARE DEAD SET on spending money to upgrade, Hood 5/5/3 I would say is your best bet. Mana drain is pretty OP. Hood is still kinda a weak character though, only has around 4500 hp i think.

    IM40 is pretty trash
    CMAG is slated for rebalance
    Psylocke is okay but doesn't scare anyone.
    Doom is okay, good for lightning rounds, but doesn't scare anyone really because he's too slow and doesn't have a 3rd ability.

    If you can get a green Sentry cover he'd probably be your best investment I think. Lots of HP, lots of damage, but he does hurt your own team too so YMMV

    You only have 22 slots. Build up that number so you never have to agonize about dropping a character from a random *good* pull or event. That's probably the best use.
