Hey, everyone!

For this edition, we received lots of complex questions. Thank you for your ideas! We enjoyed spending quite some time thinking about them and their priorities.

You may notice some questions below seem shorter than the original version. This was made so this post is easier to read, but rest assured our teams analysed the full version of it. ;)

  1. Do you have any plans to give us the option to choose the in-game language? Or at least make English available for all users?

An option like that would mean a lot to me and I think it would show us all you really mean to improve this game, so I hope you will consider it.

Answer: We love the idea and have been thinking about similar features. Technical requisites analysis is still pending, and when to fit these into the development cycle in a non-disruptive fashion to the regularly scheduled content for the upcoming sets.

  2. Do you have new ideas or philosophies for the design of coalition events moving forward?

  3. Do you plan to revamp Revolving Planeswalk for the upcoming set?
  4. Regarding rares in the BftA event, could you please remove them from the card pool?

It is very annoying getting to the end of the event, only to get 100 crafting orbs for your efforts.

Answer: Events are a large part of our current discussions. We have great ambitions regarding new events, with new formats and structures, but it will come over time. We are aiming at transforming the current player experience, including existing events and their rewards, in a way that feels natural to newer players as well as enticing to our most hardcore enthusiasts.

  5. Will we get the rest of the MOM planeswalkers? I really need that Archangel Elspeth XD

  6. The last set, MOM & Aftermath, got a super light offering into the game. Boy, were we disappointed at the cards that were omitted from the set... not to mention any new mechanics!

Is there ANY Chance we can get a do over on these sets? Or at least get us the REST of the cards we would have normally got and are still craving.

Answer: A full March of the Machines or March of the Machines: Aftermath release has a low priority in our list right now. Currently, our focus is to guarantee the sets we are working on come out closer to the paper release and to address bug issues and quality of life improvements. That said, we do acknowledge there is space for those cards not used and you might see them showing up when you least expect.

  7. With the release of Wilds of Eldraine, as well as some sets in the future, could there be some surprises like old exclusive cards being released again or added to other packs?

Do you think it is a good idea for players who have all non-exclusive cards of the latest set to hold onto their non-dupe packs until the next set is released?

    Answer:
About re-releasing old exclusive content: There is a significant amount of exclusive content that has been released over the course of the games’ life span, and some of these might not have been released in a long time. There will be actions looking to make this older content available to players, such as Fblthp, or other upcoming actions.

As for holding onto packs as a resource strategy: It's certainly a valid approach, but it's just one among many. Every player has their unique strategy for managing resources. Ultimately, we feel that the most effective approach is the one that aligns with YOUR personal game objectives and brings you the most satisfaction.

  8. Are there plans to expand Story mode? That is an underutilized part of the game that is useful for new players to both build their skills and add resources.

Answer: We agree 100%. Not only to expand, but revisiting Story Mode in its entirety is something we really want to do, but there are some heavy requirements to do that. As such, we initially decided to start working on other areas of the game instead as we properly plan this out.

  9. Are there any considerations of changing the VIP tiers to be more affordable in order to attract a larger base of paid players? Or adding micropayments that would allow users to buy specific cards and not have to grind through either buying packs or crafting?

Answer: We are always looking for opportunities to improve what we offer to all players, and how we bring these offers. We are studying products that make sense for broader and different groups, who are interested in other ways to enhance their play experience. Alongside that, we will continue to search new ways to enhance the experience of our VIP players.

As for acquiring specific cards, there are some bundles right now that work exactly like that, allowing players to obtain a particular range of cards.

  10. Regarding certain VIP card packs locked to the newest set only, problems arise when you already have all the cards in that set which means you end up paying top $$$ for dupe cards when the packs are opened.

Will you change that policy to the current set + other sets also, so this problem doesn't arise?

Answer: Considering the latest set size, as well as our plans for future ones, we don’t intend to change how the VIP card packs work for now. But this is not set in stone, and we are closely monitoring this to ensure that it does not become an issue with upcoming releases.

  11. Can we PLEASE have a beta tester group (I'd love to be included :P ) to help find and snipe bad/broken cards before release.

I'll Sign an NDA if you want, :)

Answer: We would love to have a Beta Test, however, with our current and projected future schedules, hosting a closed beta with a portion of our player base would not be a viable action. This being said, if this ever changes, we’ll reach out to the community with more information on the topic.

Hello, everyone!

Hope you are all well and excited about the upcoming weeks.

Here's another Q&A SESSION.
You can send your questions through this link and we'll answer here the ones sent up to September 30th.
If you have more than one question on different topics, submit them separately. ;)

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Lu

Game needs better deals in the marketplace, will you introduce a 'Deal of the Day' kind of thing and make existing deals last a few days rather than weeks? You gotta keep the $$$ rolling by keeping deals changing at a constant pace.

To the new management: please consider VIP card packs locked to the new set only.
For weeks now I've been getting dupes because the card packs are MOM only.
If I pay for VIP, I expect to receive non-dupe card packs, locking these to some card packs being only the new set is a bad idea as many people complete the newest set fairly quickly, having all the cards.
Please make it to All Sets instead, don't make us VIP customers regret paying for it and cancelling it because it isn't value for money, nobody likes to pay money only to get dupes.

Do you have any plans to give us the option to choose the ingame language? Or at least make English available for all users? Since MtG is English and the majority of coalitions would communicate using English.
It would make discussing cards and strategies a lot easier if us non-native speakers didnt have to look up the original card titles all the time. And there a quite a few localization mistakes we could avoid this way, too. I cant speak for other languages, but the german localization of the Colors of Magic event, for example, is almost entirely missing the permanent node effects explanation. Makes it very hard to know how to play it.

An option like that would mean a lot to me and I think it would show us all you really mean to improve this game, so I hope you will consider it.

Hey @Magic:PQ Support Team looks like the Google form isn't working for me. It says I need permission, and that this form can only be viewed by users in the owner's organization. So I think you need to change permissions on the Google form.

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, if I would be answered in time for other players, but do you think it is a good idea for players who have all non-exclusive cards of the latest set to hold onto their non-dupe packs until the next set is released?

There has only been one true exclusive card for what was released with March of the Machine in PQ, and I even missed it at first at the start of the set when looking through the library, as it was just a single rare. So most might be thinking that there is not much to be expected that could be new in their non-dupe packs, and that it might just be easy enough to craft it if ever need be.

My thoughts are on the latest Dominaria "Block", though. With that, when The Brothers' War released, there were the Urza lands that were added to the previous set, Dominaria United, as masterpiece cards. Granted, I believe this was done under Oktagon, but it has me thinking: With the release of Wilds of Eldraine, as well as some sets in the future, could there be some surprises like that, where players may want to hold onto more packs than they might otherwise, if not needing the Orbs?

Posted in the form as well.

What you're asking will nullify the purpose of the crafting program. I have been a vip for over 3 years. Only way I get dupes is by having all the cards. At that point it is useless to keep vip and cancel until the next release. For younger players, it's a conundrum. VIP gives new cards, just not of the most recent set reliably, unless of course you're caught up. I would like to see brackets of 200 players only per bracket. Top 10 players get non-dupe most recent set. Of course these WILL be dupes if you've everything already. 🤷

@Machine You can keep using the link above. It's open continuously. We are currently working on answering the ones sent in September but we'll get to October ones when the month ends. ;)

    Hello.

Regarding the fourth point. Sorry, that's not an answer at all. We are really very annoyed.
Just imagine, you go through this BfA event and try to win the 7th round, you come across difficult opponents like World Breaker and other bosses.
So you defeat them, get an exclusive pack, open it and get 100 resources for crafting - is this normal?

I would like to remove 2 rare cards from pool, but this motivates players to often play BfA for the sake of 500 and 2500 crafting resources.

Thanks in advance for your attention

Don't you think randomness is an important part of the game?
It seems to me that we should be happy that the distribution percentage of these cards is 33%, (not like in other boosters).
After the 3rd event we will almost certainly get 3100 dust. and that's great!
