NEW TOURNAMENTS IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS

Hello everybody,

Considering players having left alliances after season 1, it seems that a lot of persons burned out.

Maybe because of the lack of diversity concerning season 2 events.

I can imagine it represents a lot of work to create new story chapters, characters, etc, but I also think new tourneys could be settled with minimum efforts.

Here are examples of competitions that would renew the experience a lil bit. Feel free to comment, add your own ideas, etc.

1 - turnover tournament : a player can't use the same three heroes twice in a row. It would force us to reconsider our strategies, play unused heroes, and reward guys doing efforts to have a rich roster.
2 - 1,2,3 tournament : to participate, each player must select a 1*, a 2* and a 3* hero. Once again, concept is interesting to exploit unused heroes. And offers more variety than lone star skirmish.

my suggestion for people to get less burntout is maybe not have every pvp part of season 2 and only make maybe 2 out of the 3 weekly pvps part of seasons

Not to be too much of a downer, but the first thing I thought to suggestion 1, is that you would have terrible teams on defense and would get eaten up by anyone looking to climb you. I would imagine it would encourage sniping as players would want to make their A team fights count. I cannot see how you could maintain any ranking when you field your highly diverse Loki, Ragnarok and Falcon Captain America team.

Modern Storm, Orignal Black Window and... any 3*?

I think a lot of these ideas are implemented in the Simulation fights where they pit you against the most popular characters which for me at any rate usually means one of the ones I wanted to bring to the fight is locked out. Forcing diversity in PVP would be a bloodbath though.

@Clintman : well, I think the game offers now enough possibilities of competitive combos for a turnover tourney. Patch + Daken + C. Mag. Then LT + Hulk + Hood for example ...

For the 1,2,3 tournament, less options, true, but I think it would be more entertaining than lone star ... And when you run out of health packs and lose your OBW, you'll have to bring someone else (Ares ...?).

@Too easy : Competing for every PVP when you don't even need rewards is lame, true. You win cards other players would love to fight for, and sell it the minute you got it, just because you don't wanna damage your alliance season ranking.

That would be the point of a turnover tournament, yes defense might be impossible and you will get sniped, BUT everyone else has to do the same and there are plenty of interesting targets to hit. In it's simplest form you would only need 6 chars to field and most people would be forced to use more of their 2*s than usual. Bloodbath? Maybe, but sounds fun as can be, sign me up.

What about an elimination type tournament though? When you enter, it goes off of your character strength and level and not your MMR. The 3 you pick to enter are the 3 you have to use. Then, once you lose a match, you are out. Or it could be double elimination so you have to lose twice. It would not matter if you used 1, 2, or 3* characters because your opponent will be at the same level. Then, the last man standing, ( or woman ) gets the top prize.

Some tournament ideas:
Star tourney version 1 - 3 nodes each like the black widow one (modern, original, grey suit). one node is 1* only, another 2* only & the last 3* only
Star tourney version 2 - 3 tourneys running at once Lonestar, Two star, & three star. Maybe enter only one or all 3
Avengers tourney - avengers only
Mutant themed - buffs for all storm, magneto, wolverine, psylocke
Anti hero themed - buffs for punisher, hulk, ares (one 2* allows newer players a chance to have a super buffed featured)
4* themed - all of xforce, nick fury, IW each w own node Also all 4* get a +140 levels & 111 build for the standard
Gold themed - buffs for all golds (Thor, Cap, Daken) each w own node

Maybe another one where you can't use the guys that are on the defense team. Yeah you'll toss out weird lineups but you'll see a bunch of weird beatable ones too.

For any tournament involving 1* and 2* against 3*, it would be cool if they are buffed.. or maybe just the 1* anyway, I just want an excuse to use a buffed mstorm again
