Looking for advice on my 2->3 progression

My current roster's relevant characters:

(I have roughly 150k iso sitting around)

I have a few questions about how to proceed from here.

1) Should I abandon the magstorm plan and shoot for obw ares?
2)is black panther a good transition character? I'm pretty sure I can safely grab all 3 of those covers from pve, and I'd be willing to buy out the remaining 10 to accelerate my transition.
3)is sentry a good transition? (optimally I'd love to ride the fabio Ldaken cheesetrain)
4)if I shouldnt abandon magstorm then what character should I push into *** territory with?
5) what's the best investment of said iso (assuming I'm willing to buy out a ***'s 10 covers

    I am just starting the 2>3 yet do not have the covers needed to L85. From my experience playing against a team with OBW she can single handedly kill any of my team. I would definitely level her up soon. Magstorm combo works well if the game has enough purple to activate his purple powers. Some games don't work out as planed and you need a back up hitter.

    Most of the players on the forum believe that the sentry will be nerf sometime in the future. I would not put too much into him until you know the out come of his future nerf. He is a new character to the game so I suggest you wait and see.

    1. Ares + OBW is much better than CStorm + MN Mags for PVP. The latter is great on offense, but terrible on defense. The former is very intimidating on defense. CStorm + MN Mags is rather useful in PVE, though.

    2. BP is a tough one. He's a solid 3*, but I'm not sure he's a great transition character. That said, the general rule for transition is "follow the covers (for mid/high-tier characters)." BP will definitely kickstart your transition, but UDaken and Sentry, for example, are notably better 3*s.

    3. Sentry would be a better transition character, since he can win a fight all by himself, and has three good-to-amazing powers. He's essentially a 3* Ares, in that he'll dish out a lot of damage fairly cheaply/quickly, but hurts himself and the rest of his team at the same time. Sentry + UDaken would be a top-tier 3* team. Your 2*-3* would simply end right there. icon_lol.gif

    4. I'd push OBW to L85, then save for Ares. If you can get UDaken's or Sentry's starter covers, then I'd put your HP into one of them. It takes 170K to max out a 3* from scratch, so your Iso would simply vanish into one of them.

    Thanks a ton for the feedback! So would you recommend I focus on maxing obw and then ares and leave storm and mags at their current level?
    And yea daken sentry is the dream haha

    Definitely focus on OBW + Ares first. They're pretty much the scariest 2* PVP pair in existence.

    Also, when you happen to get a blue CStorm cover (definitely don't bother buying it), respec CStorm to x/5/x. Her blue is her best power.

    This is solid advice. But go OBW first!
    Honestly I would go Thor second since you already have all his covers and you can basically go ham immediately.
    The transition to 3*s is VERY long. Having a strong 2* team is impt and not a waste of iso. Having both thor and ares will let you save on healthpacks in long play runs.

    *oh and don't spend your HP on covers yet. spend some time in the forums and read up on the issues. honestly, see if you enjoy the 2* transition phase cos it will be long and unless you are hella rich, you can't buy ALL the covers that you will need.

    I have spent months playing with CStorm and MNThor - her Blue ability and his green ability are great ways to clear out multiple enemies at once. But I found her very squishy and would end up spending alot of health packs to play for any long period of time. This past week I have been using OBW (85) and Ares (75) and I have found I can play for hours without needing a health pack - OBW's blue heal is quite nice...

    Who would you all suggest to pair with those two? I have an 85 Thor, 85 Wolvie and 55 MNMags - all of whom offer some good options....

    On offense, I'd probably go with AWolv, since Ares + Thor has too much primary color overlap. AWolv, on the other hand, gives you a cheaper green option and a big red nuke.

    Defensively, I see quite a few Ares + Thor teams, but I think Ares + OBW + CStorm would be more annoying: you want to focus down OBW first due to her AP steal, but you also want to focus down CStorm first because she'll Tempest you to death the moment you use an AOE, but then there's also Ares, who needs no introduction. Opponents will most likely end up focusing down CStorm first, giving OBW time to steal their AP and Ares time to use it.

    For something different, I sometimes run Daken (vs A.Wolv) since he basically just sits there and makes strike tiles. Strike tiles are awesome with OBW.

    How poorly balanced does OBW Ares BP sound? BP doesnt overtake OBW's black until level 100. Maybe I just like bp too much, him and hood are easily my favorite ***'s
