Nodes of Power timing issue

The way the Nodes of Power event is timed -- in terms of recharge time and of start and end time -- causes problems in my time zone. If I wanted to get the maximum score I'd have to either stay awake past midnight or get up before 6:00 AM. This is a problem, since there are ranking-based rewards. I think that it should run for a few hours longer, so everyone plays on an even field, no matter what time zone they're in.
