Academy Elite effect wonky [Investigating]

Academy Elite reads, "When this creature dies or loses a reinforcement: Discard a card, then draw a card. It gains six mana."

However, what actually happens is that it draws a card, discards that card, and then draws a second card which gains six mana.

    That's because the card also has Blitz. Blitz makes it so when it loses a reinforcement or dies, you draw a card and it gets X (4 in this case) mana. It's a weird text to add to a card that already has Blitz, but it works properly.
    When it loses a reinforcement due to ID, the Blitz effect draws a card, then gives it 4 mana. The card text then kicks in, discards that card, draws you another, and gives it 6 mana.
