A member of my alliance got very upset when I said if you were tied on points it's how fast you finished that determines your placement was I right?
Correct. Basically, it is first to the highest points that holds that number placement. Not sure why anyone would think otherwise. How else would they determine it? Alphabetical order of user name? :-)
Yes, it's always been that way. I'm not sure what else your alliance mate thinks it would be based on if not speed. That's why everyone always says this game is all about speed and the pve meta is all about what team can win the fastest.
