D3's math skills are poor

I was at 978 leading into my final pvp match. I had a 25 point match lined up. After winning, my total came to 998. I'm no math major but I'm pretty sure that's not how addition works. I want my 1000 ISO for the progression reward.

  • While you were battling, he lost points, so he was only worth 23 by the time you beat him. It happens v icon_neutral.gif v
  • Sometimes the opposite occurs, like you have 975 and someone is worth 20 points, but he won a battle so you get a bit more and hit 1000. Now, the chance of that happening is considerably lower than the case Gamar described, but that's because people generally are losing points if they're not shielded once you're in that range, so chances are very good the value of any unshielded opponent is less than expected.

It goes the same for both ways. These changes are most notable during the beginning of a pvp tournament where point values change a lot.
