Questions about 3* tier...

Since some of my 3 star characters are reaching max lvl (266) so I was wondering to recycle them and recruit again.
Mainly because 3 tier is I believe is more flexible to maintain. And I don't do that thing with recycling. Mind you, I once deleted some of the 2* ones and recruited them again but the game was a bit stubborn on covers. Like, for 2* Captain Marvel I was one black cover away for championing her (yes, just to start the champ process) but it gave me 3 times her red power. I was like "game, stop giving me red!" Thus, I think with shards, the 3 tier is more better to handle because you can use the shards on the power you want.

So with that being said.....

  • Does unused shards go to the same character? I mean, if I have a character and delete him and recruit him again, does the shards from the previous one go to the new one? Or I have to spend them and then delete the character.
  • I know this is probably a no-brainer but just to be sure. If I have the same character but I have favorited the new one, does shards go to him or they will go to the other one more higher leveled up?
  • Last one is about the rewards. I know it's better to max it up since it's a LL token but what I am asking does the HP changes over the levels? Let's say on 266 you get back like 200 HP when selling. Or on different lvl like 250 it gives you back 150. Or they don't change at all and you can delete it anytime and it's a same reward.

Thank you all in advance! :)

    I'll try to explain
Shards go to a character, for example 3* Sam Wilson. They don't go to a specific rostered instance of the character.

Here the same shards are available for all of my rostered Sam Wilsons. It is not tied to a specific one. So each instance of 3* WIlson does not have its own shards, it is the character in general.

    Hope this helps.

It does helps, thank you. But I have to ask - if you favorite (heart it) the lvl 40 one does that mean when opening for example Standard tokens shards will go to him or it will go the higher ones? That's what I meant. Or it will go to all of them accordingly. Since the game thinks it's the same character. Thanks again.

You can't favourite just the lvl 40 one - when you favourite a character it includes all dupes you have of that character but only the lvl 40 one in this instance can use the shards because the other two are already max champed.

Edit: To explain further - let's say that Falcon gets another 30 shards so that means you have the following:

    Falcon - Lvl 266 - 302 shards
    Falcon - Lvl 266 - 302 shards
    Falcon - Lvl 40 0/2/1 - 302 shards

You have three choices - use the shards to grant lvl 40 a cover, use the shards in one of the Lvl 266 Falcon's page to roster Falcon again (a bit redundant but hey ho) or do nothing and keep collecting shards.

No matter how many duplicates you have of 3* Sam Wilson actually rostered, you only have one pool of shards for Sam Wilson. You can choose to spend those shards on any single rostered duplicate (or to roster a new duplicate), but it’s your choice which one gets the applied shards.

Ooooohhhh, I see.... It goes to ALL of them. Thank you both. :)
Although that's a bit dumb. I thought that when you favorite a character you are telling the game "hey game, it's specifically that character...." But oh well, it is what is.

Actually it's pretty great. I'm a few steps ahead of you, I've re-rostered maybe half my 3 * s. After level ~250 I only level up with covers and save any shards, then use those shards to kickstart the duplicate when the old one reaches 266. That way I don't need to roster 3 * characters of just one or two covers, instead I can re-roster them with (more or less) 13 covers from the start.

Just to be extra clear, all your dupes don’t get a cover at the same time when you spend the shards. Imagine it’s like having a single piggy bank where you are saving up to buy issues of Spider-Man specifically, and you want to buy three of the same comic issue. You can do that, but you have to buy them one at a time from your single pool of funds.

Sorry for replying late, having 2 jobs doesn't leave with free time. :(
And yeah, you are right. At first my first thought was that one when reading the previous replies but now that I've given it some time, this is indeed much better. It's just that I didn't realize it at that time.
    Thanks. :)
