Question regarding 4 and 5 stars.
But people are always saying to NOT put Iso in 5 stars. Because then the game thinks you have a champed up (270) 4 star character. Have I understood that right? Am I correct?
BUT.... what if you have already a champed up character? And what if they are max lvl which is 370? Or you have like even 10 or more champed up and so on.... Shouldn't then be good to lvl up that 5*?
To boil it down: when it's a good time to invest Iso in a 5*? What are your opinions or your observations on this thing.
THANKS in advance for sharing your opinion.

You should only invest in 5 stars when you have enough supporting 4 stars. If you jump into 5 star territory with some classic 5 stars that aren't meta and a handful of 4 stars that don't mesh well, you'll be in for a rough time.
There are certainly 5 star you can invest in that will carry you through PVE and PVP. The worst thing you can do is only have one 5 star ready to go and level them up to max. I started that way and i got beat down until i was able to secure three 5 stars. I entered the 5 star field with Hawkeye. Needless to say it wasn't easy, but i was using 4 stars that amplified him so i could still hold my own. Life didn't get easier until i had Jessica Jones, Okoye and Kitty who followed shortly after.0 -
Don't level a 5* unless fully covered.
Only then think about how high you should level them.
ISO put into an undercovered 5* is ISO better spent elsewhere.0 -
Old timer rule of thumb for 5* leveling was not to level them higher than your top 3 4* characters to keep a safe MMR.1

Of course, all of this advice assumes you are playing PvP. If you're only playing PvE, you should level those 5s as far as you can because they will make that mode much easier.1

My first champed 5* was Shang-Chi and my highest 4* was Grocket around 295. Before that, I played the ‘keep levels equal to highest 4*’ for a while with BRB. I could play easier SCL10 events but had difficulty getting to progression. After SC was champed everything was easier, including PvP since SC can shield hop faster than Polaris and unchamped BrB.Dianetics champed Hiemdall as the first solo. If I recall correctly, The review was PvP suck but being able to reach progression in SCL10 PvE makes up for a lot of pain0

I started with Ghost Rider during the Kitty/Rocket meta, and it was pretty awful until I got more tools to deal with it. But you can do it.0

Rivals in pvp are now a bit more difficult.0 -
Yes you should, until you have them fully covered.1

Yes, that roster is nowhere near ready for leveled up 5* play0

I read somewhere that the dev is planning to make changes to mmr. Just hold and dont level your 5* yet.0

I would have told my younger mpq-playing self not to pour any iso into the 5*s because that millions of iso surplus will eventually turn into an iso drought as the 4*s are leveled.0

My personal experience is that I started levelling my 5* as soon as I got them back when they were first released as I didn't know what MMR was in those days (I think it was different in those days anyway). Soon after this I took a 3 year break from the game. When I came back I found that PVP definitely felt very tough, presumably because I had a lvl 300 OML and a lvl 270 Phoenix, but no 4* champs and was finding myself up against Kitty, Grocket and Juggs as well as the occasional BRB and Carnage that had just been added to the game. Still, I like a challenge so I wasn't deterred. I built up my 4* (in retrospect, starting with Wolverine and Nick Fury may not have been the best choice, but that's another story) and got some Apocalypse when he was added. Thanks to a fan favourites store, I got enough covers to level him to 330, which I immediately did because I still didn't know what MMR was, but this time it wasn't such an issue because he's a beast and revolutionised the game for me. By the next time I had a 5* that I could level beyond 330 (Yellowjacket) I'd found out what MMR was and so hesitated. Soon afterwards I found I was getting enough 4* covers that they were draining my ISO supplies so decided to focus ISO on those, but still level many of the 5* to 330. I now have 24 of them at that level and have champed 81 4*, with the highest being 305.
So in answer to your questions, yes I do think it's best to avoid putting any ISO into your 5* when you are still in 3* land, but once you've started champing your 4*, then there's no harm in spending some ISO on the 5* that you use regularly and getting up to the same level as your 4* (or even some levels higher). And, yes, this is even if they are undercovered.1 -
It depends heavily on which 5* you are planning to level. I progressed more or less straight from 3* land to 5* land with a solo champed MThor, and it makes everything, including PvP so much easier than before.I pair her with Valk for pick 2 and add Emma 5 for pick 3. Champed MThor being fed 4 red ap per turn can quickly kill pretty much anything in my MMR range. I hit 25 wins almost effortlessly with few health packs used and finish most PvPs top 25 in the 800ish points range without using any shields. She also lets me consistently place top 5 in SCL 9 PvE (I don't have access to 10 yet). Now I'm just gonna chill with a single champed 5 for a while, and continue to work on champing 4*s who feed 5*s.2

Thank you for your answers. I'II wait with the 5* and keep building the 4* roster taking all the 3* max 266 as well.0

So yeah, I'm holding on to leveling them just because of that. xD To begin with, my top is Polaris at 275. And I do have Mthor with 1/3/1; Chasm with 3/1/1 and Kamala with 2/3/1. Those DEFINITELY will be sitting for a while. But I do have Phoenix, OLM and Silver Surfer with 1 cover. So I was wondering about them actually. That created the topic itself.

And I went ahead and spend some LL tokens so she is now at 1/3/1. But I don't think I can champ her. Best is probably I can put her at 3/3/3 if I decide to spend everything (LL tokens and CP). That shouldn't be helpful in any way maybe, right? xD
Anyway, THANK you all for the responses!
