Anyone remember how crazy crit tiles used to be?

It's been a long time, but I recall being able to make match damage of 2000-5000 sometimes and when you would match a crit tile with environmental, it would almost fully max out the AP for it.


What was the issue? Were the buffs being applied to the crit multiplier, so you would be getting 9x damage instead?

    I kinda recall cHawkie had 10x crit for some time, not sure if as base ability of as part of buff in the tournament. Around Hunt for Punisher times?

    Buffed characters used to just have all their stats multiplied. So let's say a character has his stats doubled, then his environmental damage and critical modifier would double as well. This leads to some pretty insane stuff. Hawkeye had his stat increased by about 200% originally since his stat is so weak and this leads to something like a 11X multiplier and 11 environmental damage.

    I wish they would revert it back for a single day of LRs so that everyone could understand how crazy they used to be.

    I remember exploiting that with M Hawkeye in the first Hunt. I used Forest Fire for the very first time thanks to the crazy buff on crit multiplier mixed with environmental. Good times...

    If buffed Hood currently deals 3000+ damage on a critical yellow 6-match, what was he like before? 20000 damage?

    Yeah, probably the most fun I've had in this game was taking on the L230 hard nodes from the first Hunt with a L40ish BWGS and a L50ish Mawkeye. Race to get 11 purple before you die, make a crit tile where it'll make an env match, drop crits repeatedly for 3k damage, hope it's enough to win.

    I understand why that's hard to balance but I still kind of wish they'd consider releasing a character with super weak powers but a buffed critical multiplier, just because it's a ton of fun.

    Seems like a small Yelena tweak would give you just what you want. icon_e_wink.gif

    ahhh the gold old days when MHwakeye was a BEAST in the hunt.

    dont judge me..I was just starting out and he was one of my first 2*s and it was fun as hell icon_e_confused.gif

    That's the only reason I leveled my Hawkeye to 60. I felt so silly when he slunk from selective awesomeness to objective awfulness.

    I think it'd be fun to have a Lightning PvE round themed 'back in the days', you'd be offered various overpowered characters against a couple of PvE nodes with a pretty standard set of 4 rewards (500 iso 250 iso etc). You'd have all loaned characters that uses their pre nerf stats. To avoid conflict just add a title or something like Mech Ragnarok, Uber Hawkeye, and so on. All you'd do is try to hit the nodes as fast as possible to get the 500 iso rewards in 90 minutes with your impossibly powerful characters. You'd even be offered crazy boosts that can only be used in "back in the old days' for 1 iso 8.

    Oh how much fun I had with Hawkeye and his crazy buffed crit multiplier along with environmentals. I sold him as soon as the change came into effect. Used and abused then dumped for a better model.

    A "Back In The Day" one off event would be awesome. No serious prizes and just maxed loan characters, you know something fun and irrelevant to break the monotony of 2 best plus featured PvP.

    Hawkeye, Storm and Rags are all invited, Spidey gets left behind as Peter Parker is too young to really party hard and cant handle his hooch.
