Character Requests/Suggestions

Now that we are officially in an era of 3/5 releases, who do you want to see? For 3/5 releases, 4-star releases, which one and why (like, is there a character you want to see that you want as a 4 because you don't want to see them as a 3/5?).
We do these from time to time, and I figured the change in release pattern was a good enough reason to bring up the topic again, see what people think.
For 3/5 releases, I had always thought Ben Reilly would have been a great candidate, one Scarlet Spider, and one as Sensational Spider-Man, or maybe the more recent Spider-Man Beyond. I still think that's the case, though I don't see that happening super close to the Chasm release.
Nick Fury has potential as a 3/5. One classic 60's, blue SHIELD uniform with all the white bandoliers, one either reflecting the modern comics or possibly a new MCU version. Monica Rambeau has potential as well, an MCU version with powers for The Marvels with a classic Captain Marvel comic version?
One thing I wonder (and meant to ask in the Q&A but missed the deadline for this one) is whether or not they'd consider a 3/5 release like the Elektra/Daredevil release, where Daredevil was a new character, and Elektra was a tweak of the existing 4-star version (as opposed to the 3 being a tweak of the new 5, which was the case for Strange, Thanos, Angel, Gambit, Star-Lord, and now Emma Frost).
My thinking there would be to work around the "4 or 3/5" constraints. Like, plenty of Spidey villains would work as 4's, Rhino, Shocker, Chameleon, Mister Negative, but let's say they want to do Hobgoblin, decide to make him a 5, but instead of trying to figure out a reason for having two versions of him, maybe the 3-star for that release is a Maxwell Dillon version of Electro. This could work for existing X-Men characters as well. People jumped to suggesting Namor and Magik for the Phoenix Five, but three versions of those characters (to me) sounds excessive, so what if they came alongside 3-star versions of characters like Nightcrawler or Rogue? You could theoretically even bend it a little for new releases, like if we had a Symbiote set of releases, and say we got a 4-star Scream, then the 3/5 release could be a new 5-star Venom, or maybe finally a Symbiote Spider-Man, and the 3 could be a variation of Scream, giving us someone like Lasher (effectively like doing a 3/4 release and a 5-star release without breaking the pattern)
Thoughts? Requests? Any clever ideas?

I've always guessed Red Skull and Odin for every 5* clue since I started playing, even when it was clearly neither of them. Now obviously Odin is in the game so I will once again make a pitch for Red Skull.
In my opinion, he has to be a 5*. Not really sure of the guidelines for making a 3*/5* combo so I'll keep it simple, but have a little fun with it. Make the 3* Johann Schmidt and the 5* Red Skull. Or the 3* is endgame red skull and 5* is first avenger red skull. Something like that.2 -
I would like to see a classic version of Angel as a 4* and having an airborne mechanic. The current version of 3* Angel is the time-displaced O5 (teammate of 4* Jean and 4* Iceman), and the 5* one is Archangel. Neither one uses an airborne mechanic, though Archangel does have an ANTI-airborne passive ability.2

I’ve always wondered how Red Skull never made it into the game yet so seeing him enter in any fashion would be awesome to me, and they could even make a Captain America themed boss event against him.I think they should do a 5/3 Wong, with the 5 being Sorcerer Supreme and the 3 Librarian of Kamar-Tahj. Or even a 5/3 Abomination with the 5 being Emil Blonsky and 3 Abomination from the first film. Then just throw in a 4* Titania for good measure since I’m drawing everything from the She-Hulk show right now.0

Definitely Omega Red for 3/5. Unfortunately, he will never be in the game as long as the war continues. The new dev didn't give any answer related to Omega Red thrice in a row in their Q&As as well.
I also want Blackheart in the game.0 -
The wording on the announcement definitely felt like they were talking about two versions of the same character. I do like the idea of having thematic pairs, especially if that allows us to get some more niche picks or costumes that might not be used for the primary version of a character.
To that end, my only real request would be to consider integrating some newer mechanics into the 3* tier as a means of introducing players to those concepts in a "softer" environment.
For example, Ares is likely to be the character which first introduces an "overcharge" ability in the form of his Green. It's a straight forward AP for Damage ability but it can be charged up by saving more AP before you use it. So when players start to encounter Hulkbuster (red) or Red Hulk (green) in the 4* tier, there's an instant understanding of what they are getting. I can't think of anyone in the 3* tier that does this right now, although it's basically the most straight forward type of ability after "spend AP, deal damage".
There are plenty of other abilities in 4/5* tiers that players could be eased into with some additional 3* releases. I think there's 1 ability for airborne, 2 for repeater tiles, 1 for locked tiles, 1 for charged tiles, 0 for invisibility, and 0 for fortification at that tier. There's plenty of other stuff not mentioned here that they could play around with, including Affiliations which seem to be getting some renewed focus now.
If they also need a suggestion for the next 3*/5*, then I think Ant-Man and Kang are both prime for multiple versions. (Give us a different Kang at every tier!)0 -

We need a 4* Swarm. His synergy with 5* Wasp could overwhelm all opposition.1

Actually they could go on the easy road and offer us dual characters. There is already precedent in the game.
If Marvel throws in another Guardians, they could release a 3* rocket and a 5* roquet&groot.
Dual characters could be a bit slow but are fun to play, like C&D.
They could release infinite iterations and they could be interesting.
Only that the characters below health bar could feel a bit crowded0 -
I guess these are most likely to be two versions of same character but, eh, I aint listening!
I'd like a 5* Banshee/3* Siryn father/daughter combo.
We could also have Vance Astrovik as a 5*/3* with his older (Major Astro) and younger (Justice) selves
Thematically it would also be cool to have a 5* Captain Britain (Brian Braddock)/3* Union Jack (no preference on version)
Howzabout a 5* Amazing Friends duo of 5* Firestar & 3* Iceman (with Ms Lion Support of course)
Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell)/Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell)
5* Zabu/3* Ka Zar (C'mon, Zabu is much cooler!)
5* Tigra/3* The Cat (Greer Nelson)
5* Spiky Thing (Ben Grimm)/3* She-Thing (Sharon Ventura)
5* Mad Thinker/3* Awesome Andy (w/chalk board)
5* Wrecker/3* Wrecking Crew (yes that's right -all 3 of them! They each get one power! Ball bash! Hammer fists! Uhm...Bulldoze, I guess)

Did they say every 5 released would also have a 3? I was expecting the regular 4/5 schedule with a 3 once in a while.0
-
It really doesn't matter to me if the character already exists in a lower tier. If it's a character I like, I want a 5* version of it.Rocket&Groot (Edit: I actually wouldn't mind seeing 2 separated versions of these guys in 5* land)RogueNightcrawlerAll of the Fantastic FourVenomI could actually make this list really long, but those are a few near the top of it.1

That's why we complained about added roster slot pressure.0 -
As a 5* player, I need any new characters I actually want to play to exist at that tier or they won’t be viable in the modes I’m in. I realize that’s not a problem for the masses, but it colors what I personally want for the game for sure. That being said, some of the characters I'd want I wouldn't say deserve dual releases, but since that's the policy I guess it's whatever. I would maybe also suggest if we're playing catchup on 5s that don't currently have a 3* equivalent we could do new 5*s for 3*s that didn't have one and vice versa. That seemed to have been the strategy last time 3*s were still coming out with characters like Doc Ock.Some Shi’ar characters would be cool. Lilandra/Deathbird
ive been asking for Omega Red for awhile - seems like making use of Tentacle Tiles would be fun for him, but he's GOT to have the "mutant death factor." Maybe if N tentacle tiles are in play he does a permanent max-health reduction passively and siphons it over to himself?
+1 for Red Skull, he is a glaring omission
Arnim Zola - 5* giant CRT face robot, 3* 1960s era LAN Party version from Winter Soldier
5* Speedball/3* Penance (or just 3* speedball would also be fine lol)
With that Midnight Sons tag, I'd like to Lilith
There are lots of other Ghost Riders zooming around the marvel universe; Danny Ketch was "my" ghost rider in the 90s, and there was that female ghost rider for a bit
We HAVE to get some playable sentinels in here.2 -

I'm with TRW. I grew up on the cartoons, and not the comics, so I've always wanted to see some characters from the Shi'ar Empire.0
-
I haven’t watched any of the cartoons, but whatever it takes lol0

A 3* Venom (Dylan Brock) and a 5* Venom (Enigma Force) from the end of the King in Black storyline.1
-
I Bet fot a 3*/5* release of Goblin Queen (5*) / Madelyne Pryor (3*)
In December the event "Dark Web" starts in the comics....1 -
I'm so pleased to see some New Warriors love in this thread! If we're gonna do split characters, maybe a 3 or 4* Night Thrasher and a 5* Blue Marvel (borrowing from the main-universe Ultimates). Heck, make Silhouette the 3* and there you've got Invisibility tiles in the tier.
