Some matchmaking issues possibly? (CoM)

So I was playing my lv40 Kaya on the top node of this past Colors of Magic, and the first couple of matches were against the typical level-appropriate players (+- 10 levels). But after 2 or 3 matches I was paired against lv60 walkers for the rest of the event. While it's certainly possible there were only a handful of us playing walkers around 40 I kind of doubt it across the whole game (and this was in the last couple of hours in the event). But maybe it was, though in addition to my funky matchmaking someone in my coalition group playing on a lv60 walker got paired up against my lv40. Certainly there were other 60s and that shouldn't have happened.

The 5.8.0 update was live on the Google Play Store and App Store during the event. If you update your game you will only be matched against players that have also performed the update so the pool of available opponents is smaller until everyone has performed the update. This makes the matchmaking weird for a while
