Elektra or Gargantos?

I’m trying to decide which to pull between Elektra and Gargantos.

Elektra would seem to be a great counter towards Polaris teams and could nullify BRB’s shield spamming.

Gargantos feels like another Knull type. His AP destruction seems great, but otherwise not much else. Maybe he’d pair well with Okoye and iHulk? I barely have them covered (7 on Okoye and only 3 on iHulk).

I have close to 200 LL tokens. I really like Crystal, so I want to pull her too.

So which seems better to you, Elektra or Gargantos?

Thanks all!

I have Elektra champed, and like all Elektras she is situationally pretty fun. I was pretty stoked on Gargantos, but he is very hard to evaluate at 1/1/1. I believe that he is generally more my personal playstyle, though I'm more of a champ-em-all and let RNGzuz sort 'em out type myself.

Gargantos has a giant nuke and can go invis. Elektra has some damage reduction, a medium quality stun, and can convert special tiles when they are created.
Between the two gargantos will get more mileage. But if you have a fat roster Elektra could be better situationally.

If you have 5* Hawkeye, then definitely get Gargantos.  His blue will melt faces.  His passive drain or hit is better than most 5*passives out there.

Elektra has a very cool self feeding yellow power, which is stronger than Wanda’s.  Her strike stealing is cool against Knull, Polaris, Grocket, OML, Ultron, Daredevil, etc.  But it would be really hard to switch it to protects to counter BRB

If you could select Elektra's starting purple at battle start, she would be a LOT more useful. If you have somebody like Knull in play on the opponent team, she is awesome. but if you are up against BRB or say Carnage/Carbage, you have to come up with a lot of purple to switch it.

In addition to what others have said, how are the covers for your Elektra like? If Elektra is close to 13 covers, it'd be feasible to try and complete her - especially since she should have one more run in 5* essentials before she leaves Latests - then wait till Shuma enters before pulling again.

If Elektra only has a handful of covers, that's a harder decision. I'm having lots of fun with her in SHIELD sim; she's an amazing defensive/supportive character alongside Wanda/Colossus and Wanda/Electro, the latter against iHulk teams. Plus Elektra self-feeds her best power Yellow, while Shuma doesn't fuel his own Blue and has to rely on other allies like Hawkeye. It's ironic that a great trio for both Elektra and Shuma is Hawkeye/Shuma/Elektra.

The same thing happened with Shang Chi and Big Wheel, Sersi. I think they're on to us.

My Elektra currently has 3 covers. Gargantos has 2 covers. I'm wondering if I should just use like 100 LLs and see how many I get for her, and then do the rest on Gargantos? I figure I'll have over 200 LLs in the next two weeks. I was thinking that'd be enough to champ one of them. I could always try for Gargantos later on before he leaves the LL store (when he's with whatever new 5s are out).

Stronger than Wanda's power in typical scenarios, but when you get really unlucky and are served a nasty ai cascade followed by multiple enemy nukes, SW's DR is for superior.

Overall, garg is much better than elektra at the things that are most important for competitive MPQ play.  That doesn't mean elektra is bad (she's fine) or than garg is meta (i think he might be a b-tier meta team with HE, but not the best option in the game).

I didn’t actually say who was better, but I’ll say it now that I think Gargantos is better. A boosted Elektra is playable, but a boosted Gargantos can be scary.

Elektra makes a sweet third for Colossus/Wanda.

Set Wanda to yellow, and then not only do you boop them with Wanda's repeater, you boop them even bigger with Elektra's yellow.

I think I'm going to wait until Moon Knight rotates out, and I'll champ Gargantous and his other two buddies.

Elektra is considered a support/defensive character, whereas Gargantos is considered aggressive when you have Hawkeye or less aggressive but more annoying when you team him up with Wanda/Abigail.

Elektra when you have Electro playing against iHulk/Juggernaut is the closest thing to autoplay. Her passive steal is really good against strike tiles opponents like Polaris, Carbage or Knull and when you can change it to stealing protect tile, she will steal every single protect tile generated from BRB's blue. Her weakness is against Valkyrie who will replace yellow tiles with strike tiles.

Gargantos and Hawkeye will be able to one-shot all the meta characters of similar levels out there and his maximum damage @ 450 for his blue is 128, 250. Gargantos' weakness is against Kitty, so you need someone who can SAP (+cd) tiles before her repeater explodes, and his teammates will tank most of the damage. Gargantos + Abigail/Wanda for the annoying banners, healing and damage reduction.

Elektra is a really good third with Hawkeye and Gargantos but if you choose to skip Elektra, a decent replacement is Echo (Billy Club), you simply deal much lesser damage. She and Gargantos also synergise with each another if you are looking at dealing with strike tile spammers or protect/attack spammers if you can hit 10 purple fast enough.

Gargantos and Elektra have different playstyles. If aggressiveness is your style and you have Hawkeye at decent coverage 5/0/0 or 5/1/1, Gargantos is the one.

I have a problem related to this thread and need some advice. I have 306 pulls and have been pulling as I get LLs for awhile now. I have Elektra at 9 covers with what will be 1000 shards after this next event. Should I just pull in hopes of getting her finished?

It depends on how you are going to utilise her and what your playstyle is. The next 5* release is on 2 June and its preview should be up this Friday, if they remember to do so. Maybe this 5* will determine whether you want to finish Elektra or not.

If you have the patience, you can wait for her feeders. New 4* are being given away like candies where you can hit level 300 easily (2 5* covers). Shard for another 20 levels and you get the last cover to champ her.

Thank you for the advice. I have been thinking a feeder could happen, so guess I will hold off.

It could be a long wait: ~6 months or more. And 5* who just left LT get boosted, so it could be a 1 week pain. Work out your pain threshold and see if it's worth the long wait or pull.
