New Content 

  • New Mechanics 

Crystalize (Colorless Improved Gem)

“Convert target support’s gem to a Crystalized gem. That support is exiled. That gem can be matched with two or more other gems of any color.”

Crystalize is the new Colorless improved gem mechanic that is only created by a targeted conversion on the board, exiling attached cards from the converted gem. Crystalized gems also work as an universal matching gem, able to be matched with any other color(s).

Automate

“When an activated gem or an Artifact support’s gem is matched, if it’s your turn, this creature gets +X/+0. Otherwise, it gets +0/+X. X is the number of creatures with Automate you control.”

Automate is a creature's evergreen ability that incentivizes players who control them to match supports or activated gems for their benefit while it discourages opponents to match those gems. Creatures are buffed on their power or toughness, according to the turn those matches are performed.

Lotus Field

“This support irradiates an area of effect around it. Whenever you make your first match in your turn inside the irradiated area, this support triggers its Lotus Field ability according to the color of the match.”

Lotus Field is a new ability similar to the existent Mana Field, which sets an area on the board that triggers effects when gems are matched inside that area. Lotus Field does the same, but triggers a different effect for each color that was matched. It is a mechanic that won’t be used in regular artifacts, only in Lotus related cards.

Karn, Silver Reflection

There used to be a plane of mathematical perfection built over the silver that reflected the light of four suns. Karn, its creator, used to admire the artifacts beneath the multiple sun sky, manipulating the flow of mana with his silver mechanical arms.

  • Changed the Boosters rewards of Progression Reward and Individual Rank in Terrors in the Shadows Event. See the changes in the images below:

Fixes

  • Fixed the issue where the game soft-locks when the player wins a story battle with the "Defeat X opponent(s) in PVE events" journal quest.

  • Fixed the issue where Corrupt gave Buried to the last cards in the graveyard instead of giving to the first ones.

  • Fixed the issue with the Time Bubble token, when a Deny effect created this token, it counted as a cast.

  • Fixed the issue where replacing a Reconfigured token in a friendly battle challenge causes a desync.

    Will there be a colorless PMA booster with all these colorless cards..

    Also why are there more masterpieces in this expansion and why most of them seem kind of unexciting

    Regarding Black Lotus, its one of the most iconic cards in MTG, but this PMA version just seems bad. Convert three gems and thats it? It gets destroyed? I wouldn't be excited to play it at all. Even if it didn't get destroyed it probably wouldn't be very exciting. 

    I urge the devs to redesign it, make it exciting to play. Make it a worthy counterpart of its MTG version.

    Like khurram said, Black Lotus is quite bad. An iconic card like that deserves better. Mox Lotus on the other hand is awesome.

    I don't mind Black Lotus converting and then being destroyed. I actually love that it is destroyed because that is what the paper version does. But to make it look more like the paper version I would also love it costs 0 mana instead of 5. It probably can be done because that's what Omniscience does to all cards.

    The card costs have been dramatically increased over those shown in the Card Gallery. Even taking to account the "beta" nature of the photos, many of these cards have gone from interesting to uninspiring. 

    Buyer beware.

    The Card Gallery was shared with the Pre-Release Notes last week, and the Mana Costs were still from before the final balancing. We truly apologize for the confusion that was caused. We will update the Card Gallery asap.

    It might be better, in the future, to put a high number, like "99", as the mana cost.  Then people know it will be adjusted.

    Yes, creating those false expectations is very wrong. We all know that cards need adjustments and balances. But changing the mana cost from 5 to 21 is not much of a balance. At that point the card probably wasn't even finished

    False expectations from the preview gallery, and releasing a Karn PW.

    Another thing that should be changed on this post is that Crystalize CAN affect vanguard supports. The Pre Release notes never mention anything about Vanguard supports but the actual in game text that explains the mechanic do.

    Friendly reminder that there is a Gallery of Rules and Definitions that might need to be updated for new rules that have been released since it was updated 217 days ago as of this post.
    Same holds true for the Evergreens/Abilities/Keywords document updated 357 days ago as of this post.

    Lotus blossom and black lotus are destroyed after triggering. Both cards are to bad to spend money for them. Giving resilience to them and remove the destroy part to make them real worth the cost.

    Will never be worth the cost in the UK. USA are being charged $55 for the pack which, according to Google, is around £45.50 yet we are being charged £51 which is 12% more.

    Presumably if people bought new cards erroneously believing them to have the mana costs stated in the spoiler, they could get a refund from customer support?
