Rhino could feed his fellow Russian Colossus.

Also, there's a copypasta error with his Blue power. Additional covers don't affect it at all.

I didn't know Rhino is a Russian. Thematically speaking ability-wise, they are similar in the sense that they protect allies and have hard skin that gives them damage reduction ability. There's a very high probability of Rhino feeding Colossus.

However, Russian war looks like it's happening soon. I wonder if it will affect Rhino being a feeder for 5* character.

I wonder if Russia starts a war soon that will be the end of any Omega Red releases due to political pressures

Seems like a typo because otherwise the power does the same thing at all 5 levels lol.  Can we do 7/7/1?!?

His passive “whenever an enemy SAP is matched or destroyed.. “, is that by either team ? It’s worded that way but that seems overpowered. ( As a side note before phones and video games Marvel had a CCG called Overpower I think . My husband has the set from the 1990s, anyone remember it?)

So the enhanced protect tiles only affect him if he is in front.
Well, that damage power reduction (be it whatever it could be) and increased protect tiles will make him a really hard to kill guy on 4* land and a real health pack saver.
Now he is certainly a counter for polaris on defensive deterrent( buy him and get a lot of cover for he can tank and be always in front).
I think it's annoyingly interesting for 4* land.
But all of that makes jim less relevant for 5* players although I expect seeing him on the future when boosted.
I'm happy for having him, the art looks great.

That's what I'm thinking too.  There's not a lot of thematic connection between the non-fed 5* and Rhino.  The 2 closest are Big Wheel as a Spider-Man villain, and Colossus as a Russian / Bruiser / Armored characted.

Here's hoping it's Colossus and not another Melinda May  :(

    • Level 2: Rhino takes 20% less damage from enemy powers, friendly Protect tiles are 8% more effective, and Rhino's Green, Blue, and Black base match damage is increased by 70%.
    • Level 3: Rhino takes 20% less damage from enemy powers, friendly Protect tiles are 8% more effective, and Rhino's Green, Blue, and Black base match damage is increased by 70%.
    • Level 4: Rhino takes 20% less damage from enemy powers, friendly Protect tiles are 8% more effective, and Rhino's Green, Blue, and Black base match damage is increased by 70%.
    • Level 5: Rhino takes 20% less damage from enemy powers, friendly Protect tiles are 8% more effective, and Rhino's Green, Blue, and Black base match damage is increased by 70%.
Either the ap cost decreases with each rank or it's a typo

Probably a typo, but as for his other powers:

Green is a weak AOE and the stun is random (if he’s in front). I don’t like this.

Black is a weak nuke , making weak protect tiles. That is bad, but his passive that deals 897 when either team matches enemy specials is really good.  That passive is a counter to Polaris.

Blue, with or without a typo is still weak.  It used to be 25% reduction and 200% more Rhino match dmg, but let’s be honest.  That’s hardly noticeable along with the slight increase in protect tiles for him.
As it looks right now, he’s weak overall with 1 good power: dealing 897 anytime enemy specials are matched or destroyed.  This is disappointing.

YES! I still have about 4 long boxes of my cards in a closet, was thinking of getting them out the other day and convincing my wife to play. Overpower, along with the 90s X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons, were my gateway to Marvel fandom.

I do. I still have my (large) Overpower collection and now play it with my sons.

Played quite a bit of it back in the day. It was a good break from M:TG marathons. Still have the cards somewhere in a storage unit. I seem to recall Human Torch’s Supernova being particularly strong.

His green at level 5 says: Deals 534 damage to the enemy team, destroys an additional 4 enemy or basic tiles, and stuns for 3 turns. (Max level 1044 damage).
I'm guessing he destroys first enemy tiles and if there aren't, basic tiles.
That move will trigger 4 times his passive(if mantis is a partner 4 cds too). This power could be one of the best among anti special tiles, given that also can stun for 3 turns.
His black power deals damage and can create 2 enemy low strike tiles and 3 fortified low protects. This power is open to many sinergies: an enhancing specialist can make them stronger, which it will be great for rhino; or mantis can give it to the enemy: being fortified will be 2 hits.
And finally his blue passive which will allow him to be on the front among many 4*s.
It's a really interesting character and allows any kind of power configuration.
Now rhino and mantis need a partner who creates enemy special easily.

I don't think it gives priority to enemy specials first. Powers that do that, specifically call out destroying enemy specials first. This wording just means he can target them but it will be random whether it's basic or special tiles.
The problem with the move is it costs 8 green so takes a while before it can fire and the damage component is laughable (1K damage).
There are already plenty of anti tile specialists (Sabretooth, Mantis, Morbius, Doc Ock etc) without considering Polaris herself (because she damages enemies for merely having them with better damage than Rhino does for destroying them and her stun is better than his etc) and most 4/5* players probably have those characters already at L300+ so he's really going to be a niche character.

My spouse said he sold them a few years back, he had 2 complete sets . Back in the late 90s at the dawn of the internet he would order dozens of packs at a bookstore  and sell them online to other players / collectors . He said it was very profitable and there were 4 tiers of rarity from common to legend, and he priced and sold  them at 0.10, $1, $5, $20-25. He thinks he profited about $300/ month which is about $1000/ month in today’s relative currency. I also learned back in the day  nerds would gather in large groups at comic stores and have Overpower tournaments sponsored by the store to win store prizes or special issues . I’m glad we’ve advanced beyond that , PvP MPQ tournaments at a store would be crazy .

Overpower had him because he was a big X-Men villain in the mid 90's when Overpower was released.  Does anyone besides those of us who were growing up in the 90's care about him or know who Omega Red is?

He has showed up some in recent X-Titles. I would argue that an even smaller subsection ever cared for Big Wheel, (loved the choice by the way). Omega Red has at least multiple toys, statues, and at least 1 very well known video game going for him…. so he might have a larger footprint  than it would first seem. Just my opinion though, probably not correct!

Electro is feed by Doc Ock already. Ngl He could feed Knull but he feels like he should feed Big Wheel instead.
Oh, that's right.  My Ock's still at 209, forgot he was a feeder.

I like the green stun and hope that he feeds Big Wheel, then!
