New Release Stores

With 5*s becoming more and more diluted, release stores are becoming one of the better ways to help cover classic 5*s, especially those that don't have feeders. So I'd love to know why the characters they put in these stores is so uneven. I looked back at the 5* release stores since 2020 including now Gamora, and other than the new release itself, for the accompanying 5*s we've been given:

Ghost Rider 3 times
Black Bolt, Black Panther, Doctor Doom, Loki, Okoye, Silver Surfer, and Thanos 2 times

And for toons released 2020 and prior, have not once seen:
Adam Warlock
Captain Marvel
Deadpool
Gambit
Havok
Heimdall
Killmonger
Kingpin
Onslaught
Spider-Man BiB
Spider-Man PP
The Hulk Banner
Wasp
Wolverine Old Man Logan

I don't mind the extra Okoye, but my undercovered Heimdall and Killmonger continue to glare at my overcovered but unchamped Robbie.

Spread the love, devs.

Wow, they're curating out the bad characters, sorta!

I wonder if this is based on some metric they track -- popularity or usage or something.  There's a few good characters in that list but mostly it's the dregs.

I thought the 5* special store are usually thematic, that's why the 5* that came along are uneven. The dev probably sit around a table, think of a theme for the new 5*, and include whatever 5* that comes to their mind. Whichever 5* that gets the most vote gets included.

For some players, they probably think that the probability of each 5* appearing in 5* release store should be equal and predictable.

Even if the dev sends the playerbase a survey every month asking them which 5*  fit a certain theme for future new 5* release, it doesn't guarantee that every 5* will get an equal opportunity to appear in the store.

PS: I'm lacking covers for every characters you listed except for Deadpool, Onslaught and OML.  :o

Somebody sure does like Robbie Ghost Rider a lot at the Dev team! In addition to him being in these stores he has also been boosted quite a few times too!

I've lost track of the total number of 5s. We at 70ish now?

Gh5ostrider was the first 5star cover I ever pulled. Him Thor and someone else was in the LL pool (maybe archangel?). Nowadays, I have most of the things released from Th5r onwards champed and everything that is before Th5r is at 3-8 covers.

5star feeders help with this loads and I am happy with that system. Currently shargetting 3star bullseye, 4star kingpin to get Daredevil enough covers to champ, then will move onto hawk5ye as hes probably the next most relevant pre th5r 5star.

The long and short of it is - There are too many 5s to please everybody when pulling from special stores. And there will almost always be 1 or 2 duds. D3 design the game that way to get us to play longer.

And specific Halloween stores almost always will now feature gh5strider and d5adpool. Maybe green Goblin too.

Good fortune store had ghostpool and onslaught.
Being thematics stores the 5*s are a bit less free to appear.
It could be that devs are including 5*s that they know on their trackings that are appealing.
It's quite interesting the last case: ultron with magneto(character rarely seen in pvp) and loki. It's like they were thinking that nobody was going to break a hoard for ultron no matter which other 5*s could been featured.

You'd think they'd want us to break on new characters though, unless that's already such a guaranteed drain on global CP that they don't try to put anyone worthwhile in them.
