Fan Favourite store = voted by all types of players, including casual players.

Meta Favourite store = voted by competitive or speed players.

Unfortunately, the second one doesn't exist.

Players who are disappointed that Fan Favourite is not equal to Meta Favourite prove that majority of the players play differently. That was why we had Dr Strange, OML, and Kitty 2 or 3 years ago.

Talking about Kitty, is she really popular among comic fans? She appears so frequently that it's not difficult to champ her even if you started playing last year or this year.

I’ve been playing 2.75 years and I only have her at 9/13.  I did stop focusing on her because A) Better metas released in 2021 , and B,) Morbius is an easy counter to her . There’s at least five 5* much better than Kitty now .

That's the meta side of thing. How about comic favourite? Is she really popular?

The last store had Kitty/Apocalypse/Deadpool. Some were disappointed to see Deadpool in there.

Thanks for sharing the history of Kitty.

Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing 5* Spiderman Peter Parker or 5* Ironman in Fan Favourite Store before. In terms of popularity among fans, they should be the top choices as well. I don't mind Peter Parker appearing in Fan Favourite store.

If the FS is there for to help folks wich rosters actually do welcome help from kitty or strange, certainly it accomplish its goal.
And actually advanced competitive 5* players won't need any extra help as they are leveling more modern effective metas.
However it would be really positive another alternative store, and here comes my suggestion:
The game has two parts. It would be so neat having a FS pve and a FS pvp, asking for it in the surveys.

Don't be ridiculous -- nobody likes Spider-Man or Iron Man, those are D-list heroes.

Marvel's best-selling comics and most popular movies star Beta Ray Bill and Okoye.
To be fair, Black Panther did a fair bit of business at the box office.  But point taken.

And obviously, the star of the movie Black Panther was Okoye, and not... y'know...Black Panther.

Also I heard Daniel Day-Lewis has been cast to play Beta Ray Bill in his new movie, and he'll be the major focus of Marvel's Phase 5.

I'd be willing to bet that most people didn't know who the heck Iron Man was before the movie. Marvel's powerhouses were Spider-Man and the X-Men.

You didn't stay "star of the movie". You just said "most popular movies".

Okoye was most definitely my favourite character in the BP movie. I’m pretty happy with the meta the way it is.

I guess the rest of the world agrees with you, since she's consistently everyone's favorite Marvel character in MPQ, beating out losers nobody cares about like Spider-Man and Wolverine.

While we're at it, don't forget the long-time leader of the X-Men, and the most powerful mutant in Marvel's universe: Polaris!

I got my exposure to Marvel characters via cartoons and fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom. Spiderman was one of the more popular character in fighting games. Strangely, I knew War Machine before I know Iron Man. It's kind true that both are well-known after their movies were out. It seems majority of voters are comic fans?

Iron Man has been one of the founding fathers of Marvel. Everyone knew him . In addition to an original Avenger, I read there was a Marvel cartoon series back in the 1960s starring their 5 most popular comic heroes . I think it was Captain America , Hulk, Iron Man , Thor and Sub -Mariner. These saturated the tv media long before the Spider craze of 70s or XMen of 90s.

I remember that old Marvel cartoon from reruns. There were Spider-Man and Fantastic Four cartoons at approximately the same time, but Spider-Man is the one that really took off. Spider-Man was definitely the most popular Marvel character from the late 60s through at least the late 70s just from the cartoon. The Hulk had a period of popularity from the live-action show. Marvel tried some stuff after that, but nothing matched the X-Men cartoon's marketing juggernaut (pun intended).

I knew who Iron Man was. You might have known who Iron Man was. People who were into comics knew who Iron Man was. The average person, though? They didn't know who Iron Man was.

And the X-Men were cancelled at one point in the past! Iron Man and Cap had to share a comic book because they were not popular enough to command a book each at a time when DC controlled how many books Marvel could publish. Character popularity can sometimes be entirely fickle.

And yet the character to launch Marvel into being taken seriously in the movie industry was...Blade. If Iron Man was D-list then what (or who?!?!) was Blade? Right time, right place.
