So there was an update and Gnawbone was re-worded from base power to present power of attacking creatures you control? 

So Over powered to insanely over powered is the game plan?

If so,
Can the next update have Zariel getting 10x the devil tokens per number of the die when rolled? A 20 and getting 200 devil tokens would be sweet.

Also can you change velomachus so he can draw 5 cards and give them all mana equal to his power when he attacks? 

Jokes aside, this is exactly how I see the update change. 

I think you went the wrong direction.  Just sayin'.

Some insight from the devs as to why this change was deemed necessary would be of a huge benefit to the gaming group please.

word correction was needed... good lord. 

oh well, not really sure why I should be complaining. if the card dominates the meta, oktagon will nerf it. time will tell I guess.

The new wording reflects how the card actually worked since the very beginning. So it is not an increase of its power, it just didn’t get nerfed and the wording got fixed to match. 

As for it dominating the metagame… dies to removal. Let’s wait for Song to rotate out before the green decks need a new way to break the game.
